"Gigi is a sweet little kitten that
is just a bit shy at first, but loves
cuddles after you give her a few
minutes to check you over. She
is one of two fluffy black and
white kittens at the shelter
right now. We have many kit-
tens in the 4-to-6 month ages
that have been waiting patient-
ly to be adopted. They all have
sweet dispositions and are anx-
ious to be loved by a family of
their own," a volunteer said.
Adopt-a-Pet
Adopt-a-Pet is a nonprofit volun-
teer group whose placement services,
kennels and spay-neuter assistance
program are financed through month-
ly garage sales held on the second
Saturday of the month at 210 Grove
Street. All dogs are vet-checked and
spayed or neutered.

AIDS test and parasite control. To adopt

Adoptions cost $75 plus $5 for a city
license. New dogs are brought in all the

Street. A speaker will talk about STARS, also known as Services to
At-Risk Seniors. The hosts of this event are Betty Marshall, Don
Bergland and Lela Culligan. Those attending are asked to bring
their own place setting and a dish to share with others. Donations to
the Methodist Food Bank are welcome.
Lilliwaup club sets potluck

Members of the Lliwaup Community Club will host their
monthly potluck at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, in the Lil-
liwaup Clubhouse. Vern Morgus will play his harmonica and
corned beef will be served in observance of Saint Patrick's Day.
Those .planning to attend are asked to wear green and bring
a salad, side dish or dessert as well as their own dinnerware.
Genealogists to hear Dunn
Jewell Dunn, a proissional research genealogist, will speak to-
night at a meeting of the Mason County Genealogical Society. The
gathering will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12th and Connection streets in
Shelton. Visitors are welcome and parking is available in the rear of
the building.
Equestrienne plan meeting
Members of Equestrienne of Mason County will meet at 7 p.m.
on Tuesday, March 6, at Taylor Station Restaurant and Lounge, 62
SE Lynch Road south of Shelton. Membership dues will be payable
at this time. This year's membership roster will be printed after this
March meeting.

Members of the Irene S. Reed High School Class of 1949 will meet
for lunch at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at the Royal Shanghai Res-

The Mason County Republican Women will travel to Olympia for
a meeting on Friday, March 2. The outing will begin at 10 a.m. with a
tour of the home of the Washington Legislature and will continue at
noon with lunch at the Olympia Oyster House. Those interested may
meet at 9 a.m. on that day at the park-and-ride lot at Cole Road and
