Shelton High School ju-
nior volleyball player Myah
Rodius was honored at the
end of the season with a
South Sound Conference all-
league co-defensive player-
of-the-year award.
She was the starting li-
bero for the Highclimbers
this season and tallied a 92
percent serving average, 23
aces, more than 314 digs and
16 back-row attack kills.
"It has been an exciting
experience to work with a
player like Myah," Shelton
head volleyball coach Tif-
fany Alvarado said. "She has
such great talent and natu-
ral athletic abilities that
make her such a fun player
to watch on the court. Myah
works hard to perfect her
skills, and between her of-
fensive and defensive contri-
butions, she is an all-around
strong volleyball player.
Winning this award means
she stood out as an excellent
libero to all coaches in the
league, and I am happy to
have such a great asset for
our team."
Rodius has played 143
sets in her high school career
and accumulated 704 digs,
73 aces and 41 kills. Rodius
averages 17 digs per match.
Shelton volleyball fin-
ished its season with a 3-11
record. Alvarado, who was
previously the C team coach
at Shelton, completed her
first season at the helm of
the varsity squad.
