Mason County Sheriff Steve Whybark and Bill Bruder, an advisory committee member, will talk about the the Mason County DUI Traffic Safety Task Force program and traffic safety issues. The speakers will cover bicycle safety, new DUI (driving under the influence) laws, pedestrian safety, and seatbelt and child-re- straint laws. All men and women in the community are invited to these monthly meetings. The community club will hold a rummage and bake sale on Satur- day, May 15, at the clubhouse. • THE COMMUNITY has been saddened by the death of Hoodsport resident Moriah Mc- Kasson at Saint Peter Hospital Sunday evening, February 28. Moriah died after more than a month's fight for her life. Her sunny smile will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a memorial ser- the Hood Canal Community Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6. The church women's fel- lowship will serve a luncheon af- ter the service for family and friends in the church fellowship hall. The school is trying to increase the number of books available for its new Accelerated Reader Pro- gram. Circulation in the school li- brary is almost double the figure for this time last year. Any new or used books in read- able condition are sought, except for Harlequin-type romances, which are not wanted. The school is looking for the works of many popular authors such as John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark, as well as any classics or science fiction books. Books may be dropped off at the school office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, March 8, through Friday, March 12. More information is available from Kim Matthews or Tricia Van Marter at 426-8291.
