The six boys who acted as officials and contributed to making up the teams were Lewis, Mike Sparks, Bob Turner, Bruce Cole, Rich Walker, and Tom Brigham. They listed Jim Kimmerly as the league's top center, from the Catholics. The two guards were Jimmy Johnsen of Catholics and Mike Johnson of the Methodists. The first team forwards were Joel Burnett of the Baptists and Jim Connolly of the Catholics. Episcopalian John Gray was named to the center spot on the second team. Gray's team mate, Bob Quimby, made one of the guard spots and Steve Stockwell of the Baptists was the other guard. Rocky Nutt of the champion Methodists and Charles (;:~v f MI. Olive rounded out the second team at the forward positions. The Catholics, who finished the regular season with a 5-0 record, dominated the first team with three players on it. The champions by playoff of the league, Methodists, managed a man on each squad, as did the Baptists, and the Episcopals placed two men on the second team. The Baptists finished fifth in the six team league and Episcopal had third place. Shelton's jayvees ended their season on a winning note last Friday night in Poulsbo when they dumped North Kitsap, 61-48. Everyone scored for the Climbers. The balanced attack yielded 13 pointmakers, five of which had six or more. Shelton took control of the contest in the first period of play by outscoring the Vikings 17-10. However, on a series of fouls and other mistakes, the Climbers blew Hood Canal Team Ends Fine Season Hood Canal Junior High's eighth grade won another game last week to end their season with nine wins and just a single loss. The seventh and ninth grades lost their games and ended up with losing seasons. The eighth grade played North Mason, and won 32-27 to continue their winning ways. T. Molinaro led his Trojans with nine points, F. Miller had seven, Bearden and Lindgren had six each, Bolender three, and Tozier one. Scorers for the North Mason team were Landram seven, Wing seven, Bixenmann five, Turner four, Sanders three, and Vanbuskirk one. Port Townsend creamed the ninth grade, 64-24 to hand the Trojans their seventh loss of the season against four wins. G. Miller led Hood Canal in their last game of the season with 11 points. Endicott had four, Bourgault three, and Yates, Johns, and M. Johnson two each. Port Townsend had eleven scorers, six of which had six points or more. The Trojans' seventh grade ended their season on a bad note by also losing. They dropped last week's game to North Mason, 34-27, and their record came to 4-7. LaClair scored eight for the Trojans, D. Miller and Frint had five each, Grindle and Nelson made four apiece, and Jarvis added one. For North Mason, Aries was hot with 17, Huson had five, Landram and Harting four each, and Reece and Baldy two. gs 61-48 the lead and North was wRmn 33-31 at the half. Led by Neal White, Mike Bac, and Rich Walker, Shelton regrouped and came back to a 50-39 third quarter lead by getting 17 points to North's eight. The fourth quarter saw low scoring by both teams, and the Climbers were able to coast in to the 61-48 final score. Neal White led the Climbers with 11 points. Mike Bac, Rich Walker, and Jeff Okano all had eight. Tom Brigham had six points, Larry Olli and James Robinson four each, Mark Johnson three, Bruce Cole, Tracy Armstrong, Jeff Thompson, and Chuck Hamstreet all two, and Jerry Johnsen one. The game ended coach Paul Johanson's season at 9-10. West Bremerton's Wildcats topped the league's jayvee teams with a perfect 20-0 record. League Signup Set 13 March 13 will be the first day that boys can sign up for Mason County Little League. Signups will continue on the 14th, 16th, and 17th. Registration forms will be available on Monday, March 9, at all the local grade schools and Hood Canal schools. All boys who wish to participate must be between the ages of eight and twelve and must show proof of their age. Even though a boy played last season, he must sign up. He may not be older than twelve before August first and must be at least eight by August first. Here is the schedule for signups: March 13, 7-9 p.m. March 14, 10-12 a.m. March 16, 7-8 p.m. March 17, 7-8 p.m. The location of the signups will be Lincoln Gym, on the corner of Fifth and Cota. Ted Corey, president of the Mason County Little League announced this week that there will be a general meeting of managers and coaches of the Little League on March 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Colonial House. IIII I I III III 1 II BUCK MURPHY won the 200cc race at Hoquiam last Sunday with this bouncing ride. Shelton Ri The Triple T's Motorcycle Club of ttoquiam sponsored a motorcycle mote-cross race at the E I ma Fairgrounds Sunday. Shelton's Jim Einarsson Jr. won the 250 c.c. race with the fastest time of the day, and Buck Murphy won the 200 c.c. race with an outstanding ride. The Shelton Trailblazers are sponsoring a mote-cross race next Sunday, March 8, at 12 noon. A Win mote-cross race is a motorcycle race over natural terrain, the rougher, the better. The riders accumulate points by the way they finish in each of three heat races. The rider with the most points wins. Shelton's motorcycle club has some fine riders, and fans are encouraged to come to the fairgrounds Sunday to cheer on the hometown boys. / ¢ JIM EINARSSON, JR., holds the trophy he won, along with the 250cc race, in Sunday's mote-cross race at Hoquiam.
