Vernon L. Chambers, 85,
died March 5, 2011 at Fir
Lane Health and Rehabili-
tation in Shelton. He was
a resident of Shelton for 74
years.

family
relocated to Seattle when
he was a small child. They
moved to a very rural home
in Shelton in 1936. That res-
idence was located on Phil-
lips Road, which is named
after his uncle Bruce.
He graduated from high
school in 1944 and joined
the Navy. He served two
years as a Seabee.
After his honorable dis-
charge he began working
for Simpson in 1946. He
was a plywood worker and
started at Olympic Plywood
on Walker Park Road. He
worked for Simpson until he
retired in I988.
He married Ruth Coates
April 10, 1948 in Shelton.
He was a volunteer fire-
fighter for Mason County
Fire District 4 for many
years. He served as finan-
cial secretary, assistant
chief and chief until his re-
tirement in 1992.
He enjoyed salmon fish-
ing and traveling.
He is survived by his
wife, Ruth Chambers of
Shelton; sons, Clark Cham-
bers of Shelton, Brian
Chambers of Port Orchard
and Michael Chambers of
Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter
Cheryl Frederickson of
Okanogan; granddaugh-
ters Lorelei Belk of Platte
City, Mo., Jacinda Holden
of E1 Paso, Texas, Shawna
Chambers of Lawton, Okla.,
Jayne Hinkley of Centralia
and Sierra Christian; three
great-granddaughters, sev-
en great-grandsons and nu-
merous nieces and nephews.
His parents and siblings
Irma Carpenter, Dorothy
Beerbower and Hubert
Chambers preceded him in
death.

in Shelton is handling the
arrangements.
Linda Corey
Linda Corey, 60 died Feb-
ruary 22, 2011 at Swedish
Hospital in Seattle follow-
ing a brief illness. She was
a resident of Shelton for 33
years.
She was
born April
30, 1950
to Vernard
and Vio-
let (Reese)
Wicken-
burg in Se-
attle.
She at-

School in
Seattle and went on to ob-
tain her GED as an adult.
She married Gary Corey
on May 11, 1973 in Seattle
and spent her life dedicated
to being a wife, mother and
homemaker. Her family
said he was her soul mate.
Her many interests in-
cluded crafts, making baby
hats and quilts for hos-
pitals, camping, family,
friends and her many pets.
She was a longtime member
ofthe Matlock Ladies Club.
She is survived by her
husband Gary Corey; son,
Jim Corey (Pam), grandson
John Corey, great-grandson
Rylan Graham; her adopted
kids David and Angel Evans
and their children Katelynn,
Megan and Trent and many
cousins and special friends.
Her parents preceded her
in death.
A celebration of life ser-
vice was held at the Pavilion
at Sentry Park on March 5.

William R.
Cunningham
William R. Cunningham,
57, died Saturday, Febru-
ary 26, 2011 at his home in
Shelton.
He was born on July 30,
1953 to Robert Lee and Mar-
garet (Rivers) Cunningham,
in Roseburg, Ore.
He served in the U.S.
Marines from October 1970
to November 1974. He re-
ceived numerous awards:
the National Defense Ser-
vice medal, the Good Con-
duct medal and the Rifle
Marksman badge. He met
President Nixon because he
guarded him at one time.
He married Marilyn K.
Morehead
on No-
vember
16, 2008
in Shel-
ton.
He was
previous-
ly mar-
ried to
William R. Anne Tul-
Cunningham lar, the
marriage
ended in
divorce in 1975.
He was employed in the
crabbing industry and com-
mercial deep-sea fishing. He
worked as a long haul truck-
er for 20 years, most recent-
ly for Bitterroot of Missoula,
Mont. He also worked as a
nurse assistant and pur-
chaser for a bank.
His interests included
watching parachute jump-
ers. He was a member of a
parachute team as a teen-
ager. He enjoyed playing
Scrabble, Monopoly, read-
ing maps, the National Geo-
graphic Magazine and trav-
eling. He attended Moun-
tain View Alliance Church
and Bethel Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife,
Marilyn K. Cunningham of
Shelton; brothers Robert
L. Cunningham of Colville
and James Cunningham of
Huntington Beach, Calif.;
sister Leola Hamilton of
Roseburg, Ore; son William
Cunningham, Jr. of Tyler,
Texas; daughters Jeanie
Anne Cunningham and Mi-
chele Marie Cuuningham
both of Tyler, Texas; step
sons Joseph S. Arnold of
Portland, Ore. and Richard
S. Arnold of Tulsa, Okla.;
step daughters Katie jean
Arnold and Crystal Ann Ar-
nold of Brooklyn, N.Y.
A service will be held at
2 p.m. on Sunday, March 13
at Mountain View Alliance,
314 East J. Street, Shelton.

(Gavin) Faust
Mary Beth (Gavin) Faust,
49, died Saturday, March 5,
2011 in Shelton.
She was born December
24, 1961 at Deep River, On-
tario, Canada, to Albert Pe-
ter Gavin and Leona Jean
(Brandt) Gavin.
She grew up in Illinois
and graduated from Down-
er's Grove South High
School in
Downer's
Grove, Ill.
in 1979.
She re-
ceived her
Bachelor
of Science
degree in
Thermal
Mary Beth and Envi-
ronmen-
(Gavin) Faust tal Engi-
neering
from Southern Illinois Uni-
versity in 1984.
While in college, she was
born again as a Christian
and met her future hus-
band, Daniel Jude Faust.
She and Dan were married
in Naperville, Ill. on Decem-
ber 31, 1983.
She enjoyed being a wife,
mother and homemaker.
She had three children and
home schooled her oldest
daughter, Rebecca, until col-
lege, and her younger chil-
dren, Rachel and Jotham,
until 2010 when they en-
tered Mason County Chris-
tian School.
She lived in Mason Coun-
ty since 1992. She co-owned
A Touch of Glass with her
husband for several years.
She was a independent
distributor of Reliv. She
was a member of Mars Hill
Church - Olympia and host-
ed a community group with
her husband.
Faust was diagnosed
with breast cancer in 2009.
She spent her final days at
home, surrounded by her
family and friends.
She is survived by her
husband Dan Faust, of
Shelton; daughters Rebecca
Faust and Rachel Faust, of
Shelton; son, Jotham Faust
of Shelton; father, Peter
Gavin of Metamora, Ill.;
brothers, Michael Gavin of
Argentina, Catalonia, Spain
and Dan Gavin of Brim-
field, Ill.; sisters Nancy Ry-
baski, of Lyndon Station,
Wis., Joan Brown, of Paris,
Ill. and Marsha Kaplan, of
Lisle, Ill.
Her mother, Lee and her
sister Carol Goff preceded
her in death.
A memorial service will be
held at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
March 12 at Shelton Pres-
byterian Church in Shelton.
Pastor Steve Mulkey from
Mars Hill Church will offici-
ate.
