Resolution No. 2020—17 NOTICE OF IN-
TENT TO DECLARE SURPLUS AND EX-
CHANGE REAL PROPERTY TO THE PORT
OF HOODSPORT TO UTILIZE AS A SEPTIC
DRAIN FIELD FOR COMMUNITY REST-
ROOMS; AND SETTING TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING ON SAID DECLARATION
AND EXCHANGE WHEREAS, Mason County
owns the real property on N. Old Mill Hill Road,
parcel number 42212-51-84008, described as:
A portion of the Plat of Hoodsport Volume 2 of
Plats, Page 6 and McReavys 1st Addition to
Hoodsport, Volume 2 of Plats, Page 11 in Sec
tions 11 and 14, Township 22 North, Range 4
West, W.M., Mason County, Washington, and
properly more fully described In Exhibit A, at-
tached hereto; and WHEREAS, Public Works
paid $3,301 .1 1for the parcel back in August of
1996; and WHEREAS, the property was ac-
quired for potential future road use as a vehicle
turnaround area, which is no longer a foreseen
future use. WHEREAS, the Port of Hoodsport
has expressed interest in the parcel to utilize
as a septic drain field for community restrooms.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commission—
ers deems the Ports use of the property to be
negotiated as a value to both entities with the
current Hood Canal water quality issues and
the releasing of burden of liability and mainte-
nance to the road fund. WHEREAS, the Board
of County Commissioners has determined
that the property is surplus to the needs of the
County, authorized by Mason County Code
3.40 and RCW 39.33.010. NOW, THERE-
FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a public hear-
ing is set for Tuesday, March 17, at‘9215
am. in the Commission Chambers, Mason
County Courthouse, Building l, 411 North Fifth
Street, Shelton, Washington, at which time and
place any citizen may appear and be heard ei-
therfor or against the declaration of surplus
and authorization of property exchange; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Prop-
erty Manager is directed to issue public notice
regarding the proposed declaration of surplus
of real property for four consecutive weeks in a
newspaper of general circulation within Mason
