day when he could take
them camping. Marshall
enjoyed hunting, some-

passed away March 5,
2019, at his home. Mar-
shall fought a coura-
geous battle with kidney
cancer and leukemia.
Marshall was born in
Gulfport, "Mississippi/
Texas" in 1946. Mar-
shall's dad, Elbert, was
a Texan and wanted his
son to be a Texan even if
he was born in Mississip-
pi. Because of this desire
for Marshall to be born
a Texan, Elbert's friend,
the governor of Texas,
arranged to temporarily
annex Mississippi into
Texas the day Marshall
was born.
Marshall is survived
by his wife Kathy, sister
Ann, sons Joel and Kam,
daughters Chamagne
and Charese and their
spouses and four grand-
children.
Marshall was preced-
ed in death by his mother
Winnifred, father Elbert
H sister Robin and lov-
ing mother-in-law Ruth-
mae. Marshall loved
his grandchildren and
and no gun, gardening,
fishing, cooking, carpen-
try work, cruising and
working.
After 21 years with
The Evergreen State
College, Marshall retired
on June 30, 2018. Prior
to that, he and Kathy
owned and operated Ral-
lye-House in Olympia
with partner Bob Mur-
phy. Marshall enjoyed
auto racing, be it from
the driver's seat, or his
favorite chair. He spon-
sored many local racers
over the years and built
some of the BEST motors
around.
The family would
like to thank everyone
for their prayers and
emotional support dur-
ing this difficult time.

the nurses at the Outpa-
tient Infusion Services
at Providence St. Peter
Hospital and Providence
Sound Home Care and

Cathers
It is with great sad-
ness that we announce
the passing of Garret
Raymond Cathers (Gil-
man), in Shelton, WA. He
was 28 years old and died
at home on March 3rd,
2019. He was welcomed
up in heaven by his Aunt
Michele, Grandpa Mike
and Aunt Teresa.
He was born on Sep-
tember 20, 1990 to Mi-
chele Gilman and Allen
Cathers, in Olympia,
WA. Garret is survived
by his Mom Michele Gil-
man in Shelton, WA
and his Dad Allen Cath-
ers and stepmom, Lynn
Cathers in Wittmann,
AZ. Sister, Tara Jerrells
(Gilman), brother-in-law,
Jay Jerrells, sister, Brit-
tany Gilman and broth-
er-in-law, Ross Shintaf-
fer. Nephews and nieces,
Austin Jerrells, Carter
Shintaffer, Eli Jerrells,
Myah Jerrells, Callie
Shintaffer and Cannon
Shintaffer.
Garret was a very
caring and compassion-
ate person. He will be
remembered for always
having a smile on his
face. Garret left some-
thing positive with every-
one he met. His passion
was to help people and
was best known for his
young at heart spirit. He
loved adventures with
his Mom and being close
to her was important. He
loved riding dirt bikes
with his Dad "old man"
and enjoyed their trav-
elling and adventures
together. He was an ad-
vocate for animal well-
ness and left behind his
beloved dog Angus. In his
free time, Garret enjoyed
all sports, fishing, good
health and was a fitness
buff. Garret had various
jobs andwas most known
for working alongside his
Dad as his apprentice.
Garret, you will be
missed and never forgot-
ten. We are blessed to
have you for 28 years.

Barrett
Nondis Gale Barrett,
83, passed away peace-
day, March 3,o 2019. She
leaves her sons, Fred
Barrett and wife Deb-
bie, and Jeff Barrett and
wife Lynn, granddaugh-
ter Kayleigh, and grand-
sons Michael, Brian and
Conor.
She. was preceded in
death by her husband,
Fred Barrett Sr. in 2007,
and her son, Michael in
2005.
Born on July 27, 1936
to Amos and Katherine
Mosher in Caruthers-
ville, MO, her family
lived in Caruthersville,
Missouri, and over the
next few years ultimately
settled in Memphis, TN.
Most of her formative
years were in Memphis,
where it is rumored that
she went to high school
with Elvis Presley. Betty
Jean Slaughter was her
best friend, and they re-
mainect so until her pass-
ing.
Nondis met Fred Mur-
ray Barrett at a US Navy
social during the Korean
War, where they danced
and became friends.
They were married on
December 17, 1955. Her
unwavering love and de-
votion to Fred'~ver the
years lasted 54 years un-
til his unfortunate pass-
ing in 2007. Nondis spent
most of her career as a
secretary and eventual
Lab Manager of Pathol-
ogy for Children's Hos-
pital in Seattle, working
for Dr. John Bruce Beck-
with, a leader in SIDS
and pediatric cancer re-
search at the University
of Washington. Nondis
service.
Nondis was always a
Mom first, to everyone
who entered her home.
She was always upbeat
and positive, and even
in the most dire of situa-
tions, she was always re-
assuring and kind. You
were always welcome,
and being a grub-pusher
she would not be satisfied
if you didn't have some-
thing to eat or drink be-
fore you left. Her cheer-
ful attitude and eternal
sunshine will be greatl~
missed!
A memorial service

in Seattle on March 22
