She is the daughter of
Barbara Parker of Shel-
ton and Royce Parker of
Salem, Ore. and he is the
son of Monica Bates and
the late Richard Russell
Bates both of Shelton.
Rylee Paige Schneider
Rylee Paige Schneider was born on Feb-
ruary 16, 2011 in Olympia to Jennifer Pir-
tle and Richard Schneider of Hoodsport.
She weighed 10 pounds and one ounce and
was 21.5 inches long. She has a 10-year-
old brother Zachary Schneider. Her proud
grandparents are Shelley Chisum of Ju-
neau, Alaska, Jerry and Beth Pirtle of Cor-
dova, Alaska and Pam and John Babson of
Cheyenne, Wyo. Her proud grandparent is
Doyle Chisum of Hoodsport.
Shelton resident makes dean'! list
Amanda McLeod of Shel-
ton is a freshman in nurs-
ing. She recently has been
listed on the 2010 fall se-
mester dean's list at the
University of Portland.
Students need at least a 3.5
grade point average to be
eligible for the dean's list.
The University of Port-
land is Oregon's Catholic
university and has been
closely affiliated for a cen-
tury with the Congrega-
tion of Holy Cross in South
Bend, Indiana. U.S. News
& World Report ranks the
institution as one of the top
ten regional universities in
the American West. It is
the only school in Oregon to

Sonja Jean Allen
(Schmidt), 50, died on March
9, 2011 at her home in Des
Moines.
She was born June 29,
1960 to Leah D. Allen in
Kirkland.
She was previously mar-
ried to Mr. Schmidt. The
marriage ended in divorce.
Allen worked for Boeing.
She is survived by her
daughter Naomie Martin
and grandson Demitri, two
brothers, one sister and her
partner Don Barker.
A service is scheduled for
2:30 p.m. on March 20 at the
Church of Christ in Federal
Way. Memorial donations
can be given to any animal
shelter.

She was a 13 year resident of
Shelton.
She was born January 8,
1916 to Mr. and Mrs. Bond
in Napavine.
Mrs. Suzuki was a cook for
various restaurants in Wash-
ington and
Oregon for
30 years.
She was
a mem-
ber of the
Eagles
Club in
Newport,
Ore. Her
hobbies

knitting,
crocheting, traveling to Reno
each year, crossword puzzles,
camping, fishing and picking
wild huckleberries.
She is survived by her
daughter Gloria Lund of
Shelton; grandchildren Terry
Olson of Lacey, Bobble Wil-
son, Susan Temple, Annette
Steele, Tom Steele, Wes
Younger, Tracy Younger and
Ginny Younger all of Shelton
and numerous great-grand-
children and three nieces.
Her parents, two brothers
and one sister preceded her
in death.
A service is being held at
1:30 p.m. on Friday, March
18 at the Napavine Cem-
etery, Napavine. McComb

Corey Glenn Valley, 53,

at the family home in Belfair.
He was born June 20, !957
to Gaylord Dean and Sharon
Lorraine (Oversby) Valley in
Bremerton.
He lived in Mason County
all of his
life and

ated from
North Ma-
son High
School in
1976.
He en-
joyed fish-

ing in the woods. He was ar-
tistic and very creative.
He is survived by his
mother, Sharon Valley;
brothers Tony (Pare), Jay,

noon at the family home on
Saturday, March 19.
