Set once again for the High School Minidome, Saturday's renewal both forms and sparring compdtition plus exhibitions. C boys tough under throttle ,'ason in traditional fashion this eve- ees: s  James Aries and Jim Up-tempo proved synonymous with out-standing for Highclimb- er hoopdom's C-squad boys this past season. Best at full throttle, Shelton's varsity-players-in-the-making parlayed their forte into a 14-3 record. "An outstanding season," says their mentor, coach Terry Dion. "We swept Aberdeen, Capital and Tumwater and split with Olympia." His boys' above-average ball- handling and passing skills had a lot to do with their success, says Dion. Especially on the move. "Yeah, when the tempo was up," he says, "we excelled as com- pared to our competition." The squad exhibited great teamwork, too, adds Dion, with most of the players scoring in every game. "And over the course of the year," he says, "we had five different players lead us in scoring." And defensively? "We were solid," says Coach. "We had many games where we shut the opponents down for a quarter or more. "And another factor that aided our efforts was the ability to re- gain momentum during a game after the other team went on a run." Sophomores all, the Climber C- squaders included Aaron Dorcy, Ryan Gonzales, Jason Winans, Jay Edgington, Donal Wood, Zach Bowman, Zach Sheetz, Kris Felix, Mike Gray, Dan Philpott and Philip Johnson. "The ef- fort put forth by all of them was tremendous, and the improve- ment shown by all gives a lot of promise for the future of High- climber basketball."
