More than 1,500 Scouts and Cub Scouts of the Tumwater Area Council plan to help the handicapped workers at Goodwill Industries March 22 announced James Phillips, council executive. Special Goodwill bags were left at homes in Mason County March 15. The Scouts will return after 10 a.m. March 22 to pick up the filled Goodwill bags. Families are asked to donate clothing and small household items which they no longer need, to provide employment and training for more than 400 handicapped men and women at Tacoma Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center. Many handicapped men and women from the local community have received services from Tacoma Goodwill. "Materials are needed more than ever at this time," said Don Eldridge, Tumwater Area Council's Goodturn Drive coordinator. Physically, mentally and emotionally disabled men and women work at, and learn, many different skills at Goodwill as they recondition the items donated by the public. CPR class planned at Agate Grange Residents of the Bayshore, Agate and Picketing areas especially are welcome to attend when members of Fire District 5 conduct classes on heart and lung resuscitation at the Agate Grange Hall 3/4 mile west and 1/8 mile north of the Agate Store.
