Shelton
explained that the festival will be
an annual event. "Tile festival is
designed to provide activity and
functions for tile entire family,
fun for parents and children alike;
the difference being that parents
and children can enjoy it
together," he said.
The youth festival is still in
the planning phase, Bialock said.
"Anyone who is interested in
being involved in the planning and
organization of the festival is
most welcome." Call 426-3127 or
426-2753 for further information.
Next week the king and queen
of the month-long festival will be
announced. The king and queen
will ride on the youth festival
float in the Forest Festival
Parade. "This event will be a
major effort to raise money for
the Youth Service Agency,"
Bialock said. "We have projected
as our goal $2,500. 1 feel we will
far surpass that amount.
"In April schedules of youth
festival activities will be circulated

meeting lasted until around
midnight, the two sides never
reached a solution. With the
exception of signing the vouchers,
the board voted to postpone the
rest of the business on the
agenda until the next regular
board meeting. March 18 was the
date set for a new committee to
be formed to try and come up
with a recommendation to the
board of "where to go now."
Tomorrow, Friday, the sixth
grade class with Bert Miller and a
few parents will spend the day on
the oceanographic boat, "Pagan."
The students have been eagerly
anticipating this trip since they
began studying oceanography a
few weeks ago. Since the kids
earn the funds for the trip
themselves, they appreciate the
opportunity so much more.
There will be an early
dismissal Friday, March 21, which
will be the official beginning of
spring vacation. The kids and staff
will have nine days to call their
very own.
The Heaithmobile will be at
the school March 25 during spring
vacation Week. ttours for this
public service, which is available
to all members of the community,
are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Rests on people

he continued.
The film, "Children in
Trouble," will be shown at the
third community meeting to
discuss the development of the
Mason County Youth Authority.
The meeting will be held next
Tuesday evening at 7:30 at
Evergreen Elementary School, 8th
and Pine in Shelton.
"Children in Trouble" is an
enlightening film documenting
the destructive effects of the
juvenile justice system on
children, Bialock said, The film
will be offered as part of the
program for the community
meeting out of which will come
the development of a Youth
Service Agency.
The meeting scheduled for
Tuesday evening is the third in a
series of community .meetings.
Bialock said, "The involvement of
this community in the
'development of the proposed
Youth Service Agency has
steadily grown We are progressing
towards actualizing our goal. I
have been in direct contact with
many people who will get
involved in some way when they
see that this agency is providing a
needed service.

understand why this is true.
Mason County has had several bad
experiences with programs for
young people. What I am
suggesting is a totally different
concept, it is the people who are
on the fence who can assure the
success of this project."
Bialock said he is sure that by
January of 1976 this community
will have a Youth Service
Agency. Mason County Youth
Month during the month of May
will be an annuM event and it will
signify the beginning of "our
drive to demonstrate the physical,
the psychological, and the
spiritual needs of our youth."
Bialock said, "If you are
unsure but interested, come to
the meeting or call 426-312Z
Learn what we are proposing. I
am not selling an idea, I'm selling
a better quality of life."
