contract with OK Roofers for
repair of the roof on the city shop
at a cost of $1,052.50. The firm's
quote on the work was the low of

George Doak, chairman of the
Mason County Traffic Safety
Commission, attended the
meeting to report on progress in
getting a fund grant through the
Federal Highway Safety Act to
bring city street signing up to
standard.
The fund grant request would,
be about $13,000, Doak said.
The commission asked him to
work with the city engineer's
office in continuing to get the
grant submitted.

Hospital.

in the search effort concentrating
in diving in deep holes in the
river.
The previous search efforts
had covered both banks of the
river and, as much diving as the
swift water would allow.
The sheriff's office, which was
in charge of the search effort,
decided Sunday to call off further
efforts until the water level in the
river went down.
The search effort was
coordinated by the county office
of emergency services, the former
civil defense office.

the Shelton General Hospital
Foundation and rlonated to
Mason General Hospital. The area
for the heliport has been cleared
and plans for it have been
prepared.

Squaxin tribe
sets meeting
The general meeting of the
Squaxin Indian Tribe,has been
re-scheduled for 2 p.m. April 1 at
the Kamilche Church, it was
announced this week.
The meeting had been
scheduled for March 25, but was
cancelled because of the death of
a tribal member, Hazel Peterson.
Her funeral services were held in
Nampa, Idaho, March 23 and
members of the family who
attended were not able to make it
back in time for the scheduled
meeting.
