They're digging for dinner
Members of the Shelton Yacht Club gather fresh oysters from Manke's beach on
Hood Canal in preparation for their 50th annual Oyster and Ham Dinner. The
dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Shelton Yacht
Club. Visitors will be served pan-fried oysters or ham with scalloped potatoes,
rolls and butter, green beans with bacon and dessert. The cost is $12 for adults
and $6 for children. Tickets are available from any club member and at the door
on the day of the dinner.

Monday, April 2, Book Babies for
babies and their caregivers will

same day and Family Story Time
for children age 6 and younger
will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 3.
PageTurners, a book discussion
group for adults, will meet from
6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April
5. Participants will be invited to
read their favorite poem, whether
written by themselves or a favor-
ire poet.
All library programs are free
of charge unless otherwise noted.
Other programs planned for the
next few days include the follow-
ing:
• "Computer Comfort, a class
for adults, will meet from 10 a.m.
to noon on Wednesday, April 4.
This class is for people who have
little or no computer experience
and includes logging onto the
library's computers, using the
mouse and keyboard, scrolling,
using links and understanding
the basic toolbars. Advance regis-
tration is required.
• Families are invited to join
the Mindful Parenting Commu-
nity from 10 a.m. to noon on April
4. Parents and caregivers meet to
socialize and discuss parenting
topics while children play near-
by.
