Superior Court Default Divorces Default divorce decrees have been granted to: Effie Eastburn from Francis Eastburn. Loretta McCulough from Frank McCulough. New Cases Dorothy Bishop against Harry McGahan, abstract of judgement. Communications Workshop Set A workshop in Human Communications will start April 9 at the Methodist Church with the first of four sessions. The other sessions will be held on consecutive Thursdays. The communications workshop is being sponsored by the local mental health organization. It will be conducted by Aria Thomas, Olympia, an educational counselor• The fee for the course is $12 per person or $20 for a married couple. There are still some openings. An automobile traveling at very high speed or racing other vehicles can indicate the presence of an intoxicated driver. Rapid lane-changing often accompanies the high speed. Richard Lawrence La Marsh of Toledo, Ore., died Sunday in Newport, Ore., apparently as a result of a heart attack. Fie was born April 23, 1919, in Bend Ore. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse, the Toledo Grange, and the Toledo Elks. He is survived by his wife Lois and his daughter, Loretta Peck, of Toledo; two sons, Jerry La Marsh of Long Beach, Calif. and Richard La Marsh of Bellingham; six brothers, Lester, of Ketchikan, Alaska, Fred of Seattle, Robert of Tacoma, and Vernon, Walter and Kenneth of Shelton; three sisters, lone Garske, Seattle, Lavay Hein, Tacoma, and Carol Bergeson, Shelton; and six grandchildren. The service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. in Bateman's Funeral Chapel in Newport, with interment in the Eureka cemetery. Alvin F. Oppelt Dies On Sunday Alvin F. Oppelt died Sunday in the Fir Lane Terrace Convalescent Center at the age of 87 years. tie was for 45 years a resident of Shelton, and for the past seven years had resided in Bremerton. He was a retired masseur and zone therapist. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was born April 1, 1882, in Waterville Village, Minn. He is survived by two grand-daughters, Mrs. Cozette Little of Raymond and Mrs. Sandra Pierce of Redwood City, Calif.; a grandson, Robert Bales of Albany, Ore; a brother, Charles Oppelt of Elma; two sisters, Mrs. Berniece Ritchie of Capitola, Calif. and Mrs. Pat Fisher of Port Townsend; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 A.M. today in the Batstone Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Burr officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup at 1 P.M. High Low Precip. J7¢ .ow17 from Johanna Tack Dies Monday Mrs. Johanna Tack died Monday in the Fir Lane Terrace Convalescent Center at the age of 89 years. She had been a resident of Shelton, Mason County and the Matlock area since 1921. She was a member of the Baptist church. She was born May 19, 1880, in Rotterdam, Holland. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Kent, Shelton, Mrs. Johanna Aardal, North Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Agnes Stangland, Aberdeen; a son, John Tack of Sweet Home, Ore.; a brother, Martin Van der Zueth, Aberdeen; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Robey of Detroit, Mich•, and Mrs. Marie Van der Schee of Rotterdam. Holland; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The service will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Batstone Funeral Home, with burial in the Shelton Memorial Park. Youth Arrested A l T-year-old Mason County youth was arrested Friday night at a state park for possession of marijuana and pills. Hood Canal School After months of delay, for one reason or another, the architectural firm of William A. Johnson of Everett has completed plans and specifications for the new addition to the Hood Canal Elementary School. A review for confirmation to the requirments of the State Fire Marshall, Mason County Health Department and the Department of Labor• and Industries will have to be made prior to submittal to the State Board of Education for their approval. When State approval is granted bids will be advertised for two weeks for the construction of the new school addition. Pill Attends District Supt. John Pill attended a conference in Olympia on the subject "The children and youth in Trouble within Your City and County". Benefit Dance A benefit dance for Mrs. Dianne Morris will be held at the Skookum Community Hall April 4 from 9:30 P.M. to 2 A.M. Music will be by Walt Allen and his western band. Mrs. Morris' son, William, 5, lost his life when a fire gutted the family's duplex apartment March 16.
