Our Shoe Club Now Boasts Over 1900 Members Sere" 107 S. 4th Shelton Jury 1 Two cases which were to have gone before the Mason County Superior Court jury this week were delayed when attorneys withdrew from the cases. A jury was selected Monday for the case of Richard Webber, Seattle, who is appealing a justice court conviction for driving while intoxicated. The jury was to have reported back Wednesday morning, but, was notified not to appear. Webber's attorney in the case, Robert Lundgaard, Olympia, asked Judge Charles Wright Wednesday morning for permission to withdraw from the case. Lundgaard said because of recent developments in the case, he did not feel he could adequately prepare for it. Prosecuting Attorney John C. Ragan stated he was aware of the circumstances which had prompted Lundgaard's motion to withdraw and that he did not have any objections. Ragan said the case would be noted up for trial setting in about two weeks which would give Webber a chance to obtain another attorney. The prosecutor said there were two or three cases which would probably have to be tried during the continuation of the jury session in June or July. Also scheduled for trial this week was the case of David Miskinis and Robert Selby, charged with possession of drugs. Miskinis appeared in court Monday morning to withdraw appeals he had made of convictions by the Superior Court jury last year for petty larceny and grand larceny. Judge Wright withheld sentencing Miskinis on the two previous convictions until later. Ragan stated that he would be willing to withdraw the drug charge against Miskinis if the appeals were dropped and he was sentenced on the previous convictions. Shelton Attorney Byron McClanahan, who had been appointed to represent both Selby and Miskinis, asked to withdraw from representing Selby was a possibility conflict of interest between the two. He was granted permission to withdraw, and, Fred Gentry, Olympia attorney, was appointed by Judge Wright to represent Selby. Fame is the perfume of heroic deeds. -Socrates WRIGHT TO RECEIVE MEDALLION, SCHOLARSHIP Duane H.
