Horsemen welcome
new memberships
Mason County Back Country This group invites people who
Horsemen of Washington will meet are interested in keeping trails
at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, in open in Mason County and all
the PUD 3 Auditorium, 307 West across the state to join as new
Cota Street. members.
Vets, auxiliary to nominate
The Mason County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1694 and the
Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 6, at Memorial
Hall, located on the corner of Second and Franklin streets in down-
town Shelton. The auxiliary will take nominations and elect officers
for the next year. The post will nominate officers.
The auxiliary will host a pinochle card party at 1 p.m. on Fri-
day, April 6, with proceeds supporting the cancer aid and research
program. The post and auxiliary also meet for bingo each Saturday
at Memorial Hall, with "early bird" bingo beginning at 6 p.m. The
public is invited to attend.
Butros to address Kiwanis
Mason County Public Works Director Charlie Butros will ad-
dress the Shelton Kiwanis Club this week. This club will meet at
noon on Tuesday, April 10, at Xinh's Clam and Oyster House, 221
West Railroad Avenue in downtown Shelton.

Members of the Mason County Mult'p Sclerosis Support Group
will meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at the Royal
Shanghai Restaurant, 2517 Olympic Highway North in Shelton.
Dee Jensen will talk about the benefits of the MS Activity Club.
This meeting is open to everyone with multiple sclerosis, along with
their spouses, significant others, caregivers and friends or acquain-

Sams plan spring campout
Tramper Sams, a Good Sam recreational vehicle club, will go
on its first campout of the year next week. Members of the group
will visit Hoquiam River RV Park from Tuesday, April 10, through
Thursday, April 12. Activities will include a potluck dinner, book
anti puzzle exchange, group dinner out, French toast breakfast and
games. Hosts for this campout are Bev and Gordon Craig and Oscar
and Barb Kaattari. More information about this chapter is avail-

Members of the Mason County Pioneers will meet for lunch at
noon on Wednesday, April 11, at the Shelton Elks Lodge, 741 SE

Adopt-a-Pet is a nonprofit volun-
teer group whose placement services,
kennels and spay-neuter assistance
program are financed through month-
ly garage sales held on the second
Saturday of the month at 210 Grove
Street. All dogs are vet-checked and
spayed or neutered.

visit. To donate items call 426-4269.

Feline Friends
Feline Friends is a nonprofit vol-
unteer group whose mission is rescu-
ing and finding homes for homeless,
abused or abandoned cats and kittens.
The group provides foster care in vol-
unteers' homes until the animals can
be placed in permanent homes. Adop-
tion fee includes spay-neuter service,
feline AIDS test and parasite control.
To adopt a kitten or adult cat, call

are accepted at P.O. Box 27, Shelton,

Kitten Rescue
Kitten Rescue of Mason County is
a nonprofit volunteer group which res-
cues and finds homes for abandoned
kittens. Adoption fee includes spay-
neuter service, feline leukemia, test
and immunizations. Quarterly garage
sales support the group. For informa-
tion on kitties available for adoption
or to donate items for the garage sales,
call 426-2455 or go to www.kitten-
resq.net.

city license. New dogs are brought in

Freecycle invites everyone to a
"give-away" day on Saturday.
With the goal of keeping reus-
able "junk" out of landfills, people
may bring useful items they no
longer need, or take home a "trea-
sure" they discover at the event.
