Shelton teacher
awarded $1,000
Amazon gift card
Mountain View Elementary teach—
er Candace Ranney was awarded a
$1,000 Amazon gift card from na-
tional authorized Verizon retailer The
Cellular Connection.
According to a news release, the
award was part of a national sweep—
stakes through TCC’s annual Teach~
ers Rock initiative. The gift card is
aimed at helping teachers improve
their classrooms.
More than 1,700 teachers entered
for a chance to win gift cards, and
Ranney was randomly selected as a
winner.
Ranney said in the news release
she plans to use the gift card to pur-
chase more library books and improve
library' activities and family outreach.
“It’s difficult to express how excited
I am about this! The fact that this
sweepstakes was specific to teach~
ers shows an appreciation of teachers
that is above and beyond,” Ranney
said in a news release. “We don’t do
what we do for the accolades, but this
expression of support for educators is
just wonderful.”
