On Tuesday, the High- climbers defeated South Kitsap 145-75. The leading Shelton golf- ers were Zach Lund with a score of 75 for 33 points, Marcus Browning with a score of 76 for 32 points and Alec Martinson with a score of 77 for 33 points. "We haven't had three kids shoot in the 70s that I can ever remember," said SHS head boys' golf coach Mark Jensen. "This was Marcus Browning's best match score of his career and Alec Martinson and Zach Lund continue to have good scores." Jensen said freshman Mitchell DeAndre helped out the team with a strong back nine for a final score of 86 for 22 poini~s! Weather permitting, the Highclimbers are scheduled t6 golf at 2:45 p.m. today at Alderbrook against Gig Harbor. "Gig Harbor will be a real test for us," Jensen said. "They're usually a top team in the 4A Narrows League." The winning gross point team was Carlos Hernandez and Alvaro Lopez with a score of 74. Javier Martinez and Fred Simeral took second place in gross points with 81. The winning net points team was Ron Gurszcynski and C.J. Leanne Milligan won the closest to the hole contest. The next golf tomzmment is the Spring Open, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 5 at Lake Limerick Golf Course. The entry fee the Spring Open is $35, which includes green fee, lunch and prize money. This will be a fbur person scramble. Lake Limerick is also planning a Spring Glow Ball tournament for May 12. More details are coming for this tournament.
