Bulldogs struggle offensively in Poulsbo

day at North Kitsap High School in
Poulsbo.
But North Mason (4-5, 3-4 Olympic
Legaue) could not generate enough
hits in the 4-0 loss to the Vikings (6-2,
5-2 Olympic League).
'North Mason's M.J. McDonnell
pitched six innings, allowing three
earned runs on five hits, striking out
four Vikings and walking one.
Both teams were keeping each oth-
er off the scoreboard in the first three
and a half innings.
Aider a diving catch in the outfield
by Royce Fisher, North Kitsap's Zane
Minder earned his lone hit on a RBI
single in the bottom of the fourth in-
ning. Two batters later, Alex Nettle-
ton hit a two-RBI single to give the
Vikings the 3-0 lead.
Minder had his second RBI from a
sacrifice fly that brought Nick Benish
North Mason had three hits from
three separate Bulldogs - Kasey Bielec,
Tanner Anderson and Evan Rouse.
"We just didn't get [enough] hits on
a great defensive team," Geyer said.
While McDonnell, who plays first
base when Bielec pitches, was on the
mound, freshman Sam Sandall made
his varsity debut at first base.
Geyer was happy with the new Bull-
dog's performance consistantly collect-
ing throws from the other North Ma-
son infielders.
"That's why we brought him up
