u ! i11]In J,~ TRACK loses By DEAN SIEMON North Mason High School girls tennis hosted Port An- geles High School on Monday in a 6-1 1A/2A/3A Olympic League loss. North Mason's lone win on the day came in the number- four doubles match, where Jennifer Hicks and Emily Satran defeated Callie Teet and Erin McKenna 6-1 and 6-3. "Both are turning into great tennis players," said North Mason head coach Clifford Harris. Port Angeles' Kelsoy Coff- man and Kyrie Reyes won the number-two doubles match against North Ma- son's Emma Urdahl and Kristy Reichert in straight 6-4 sets, one of the closer doubles matches. North Mason's Shannon Cox and Heather Jacobsen almost forced a third set~ los- ing 6-2 and 7-5 to Port An- geles' Brabi McFarlen and Lissy Moriarty. Harris said the Lady Bull- dogs played much better from their recent matches. "The girls were more com- petitive," Harris said. "Those 4-6 matches should have been 6-4." North Mason's Misha Or- chard, Tiffany Nelson and Hannah Phillips each lost in straight sets in their respec- tive singles matches. Harris said the factor for the Lady Bulldogs, which has been a factor for most spring athletics in the state this year, is weather, which has canceled a number of practices. "In tennis, you don't get better just playing matches," Harris said. April 17 at North Ma- son High School in Belfuir Port Angeles 6, North Ma- son I Singles - Boyd (PA) def.
