Faulkner announces her pass- ing on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Mason Gen- eral Hospital. She had recently celebrated her 80th birthday. Char was a lifetime Shelton resi- dent and beloved school district employee at the time of her passing Char was born March 6, 1936 to Charles and Doris (Adams) Miller in Shelton, WashingtOn. She was Skokomish Indian and was raised within that commu- nity. Char graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1957. Charlotte married Steve Faulkner on .May 30, 1980 in Shelton. He preceded her in death in 2004. Char’s previous marriage to Jim Tobin ended in divorce. Mrs. Faulkner’s life work was education. She taught Head Start for many years. Later she worked in the Olympia School District Indian Education program. For over 40 years, Char has worked in the Shelton School District as a pa- ra-educator. She worked at Shelton High School (foods, nutrition and sewing) for 35 years. Char loved to support the “kids” in her life. She enjoyed watching her own children, grandchil- dren, nieces, nephews and students she taught participate in activities. She would think noth- ing of traveling hours to watch them play a sport. She would come to mu— sic performances, plays, award '_cerem0nies, etc. Whatever they were do- ing; if she was invited, she would attend. ' Charlotte especially loved her family. And if you were loved'by Char, you were family. Char is survived by four children, Jim To- 36047611803 bin Jr. of Shelton; Julie Mix (Ralph) of Puyallup; Jeff Faulkner of Bonney Lake and Lana Faulkner of Kennewick; daughter Michelle Faulkner pre- ceded her in death. She is also survived by her siblings; Guy Miller of Skokomish, Mary Daw- son of Shelton, Alice Pulsifer of Skokomish, Robert Miller of Shelton and Pam Veliz of Shel- ton; five grandchildren; many nieces and neph- ews and their children. A' small graveside service was held at Shel- ton Memorial Cemetery on April 8, 2020. Due to social dis- tancing the family will schedule a public cel- ebration of life memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. “LornaxEliaabewth Ann J oslin Lorna Elizabeth Ann Joslin was born on July 15th 1926, in Clackamas Oregon. She resided in Washington State for 75 years and lived five more years. in Kailua Kona Hawaii with her daugh- ter Kym. She struggled with dementia the last ten years of her life and died peacefully at her daughters’ home'on Eas- ter day. She was preceded in death, by her father Howard Johnson, moth- er Lulu Calkins her for— mer husband of 32 years Lester Joslin, cOmpan- ion Richard Wicket and grandson Brad Joslin Jr. Lorna was the young- est and last remaining of eight children. Mom managed our family store “The Good Life Health Foods” for 35+ years. She dedicated her life to the store and helped countless cus— tomers with their health while making lifelong friendships. She always had a smile on her face and had a kind word or compliment to anyone that came in the door. Lorna had many hob— bies however, nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She was front and center at all of their sporting events and cheered them on. She loved playing the harmonica and had a beautiful singing voice. She directed the chil— dren’s choir at the unit- church in Shelton for several years. Mom was a Mari- ners super fan and arm- chair cheerleader for the team. She loved ,to sew and making blanket for family members and lo- cal charities became a passion of hers. She enjoyed spend- ing time at the family property on Goldsbor- ough Creek in Shelton and as she wished this is where her memorial ser— vice will be held.
