Feeney reported that some unex-
pected asbestos was found in places
that require air monitoring. Those
materials must be wrapped before
being removed from the site.
The Mini-Dome and pool work are
expected to be completed bynAug. 28.
The third phase of the school s ath
letics projects will be the renovation
of Highclimber Stadium.
The stadium s grass surface and
existing track will bevtorn out and re-
placed with a new track and arti cial
turf playing surface.
Feeney said he expects two rms
to bid on that phase of the project and
hopes to start work May 4 and to be
completed before Shelton s scheduled
Sept. 4 home football opener against
Mason County Cup rival North Ma-
son High School.
The rst phase of the project was
the school s baseball and fastpitch
elds, which Feeney said was 99%
done.

Feeney said the elds have about
three to four days of work left and are

phases of Shelton High s athletic fa:
cilities project is $13,115,037. The
Bordeaux gym project budget is"
$4,114,964.
The facility upgrades are being
paid for with money the district re-
ceived from State Construction As-
sistance Program, which the district
applied for after the voter-approved
passage of its $64.7 million bond
measure. The program awarded the
district approximately $19 million,
which was also used .to rebuild the
Shelton High School parking lot and
other'campus projects in'the district.
Shelton High School was built in
1975, and many of the schools ath-
letic facilities haveseen only minor
renovations since then.
Applications must be postmarked by April 30, 2020,
and winners will be announced in May 2020.
