last year and will also in-
dude donations from the
community for additions to
the field.
What has been only an
ambulance entrance near
the east side of the stadium
is now planned to include
not only a large arc to say
"Coach Phil Pugh Stadium,"
but also a main entrance for
fans with ticket booths.
"People would no longer
have to go up the path,"
Swofford said, referring to
a path that went up a hill
near the high school build-
ing from the parking lot.
All of these additions are
aimed to be completed before
the first home game of the
2011 season.
"I would have been happy
with just a piece of wood
and somebody engraved his
name on there," McKay said.
Pugh said there are only
two words that can describe
what he feels about mem-
bers of the community mak-
ing the change - gratified
and honored.
"I can only express my ap-
predation to the school, the
community and the people
involved in the process," he
said.
