CORRECTION
The name in an accident
report in the Journal last week
was transposed. The name of the
driver of a car involved in an
accident with a bicycle was listed
as Walter George. The name of
the driver was George Walter, not
Walter George.

Don Bonker
is
Don Bonker, Clark County
Auditor, announced this week he
will seek the Democratic
nomination for the Third District
U.S. House of Representatives
seat now held by Julia Butler
Hansen.
Mrs. Hansen has announced
she does not plan to seek
re-election to the position she has
held several years.
Bonker, 37, was elected Clark
County Auditor in 1966 and has
held the position since.
He was a candidate for
Secretary of State in the 1972
general election.
He received his education
from Clark College Vancouver;
Lewis and Clark College,
Portland; American University,
Washington, D.C.; and Portland
State University.
He is a veteran of service in
the U.S. Coast Guard.
He has been active in
Democratic political activities in
the state and has served on
numerous civic groups.
