..... Elmer Lloyd Friesner Elmer Lloyd Friesner, 78, died April 24, 2012, at Mason General Hospital in Shelton surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Shel- ton for 35 years. He was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Rockwell City, Iowa to Floyd ~ .............. Friesner t~ and Ethel i~i~ (Bacon) ii~i ®~' .....Friesner. l~i He at- tended high school in Wil- liams, Elmer 'Minn. Friesner He married Marlyn (Grems) Friesner at his parents' farm in Williams, Minn. on Jan. 24, 1953. He was employed as a truck driver, heavy equip- ment operator and carpenter until he retired. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, traveling and camping, watching the Mari- ners, dinner at the casino and Sunday drives. His fam- ily said he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his companion and friend Aloma Perez of Shelton; daughters Katherine Shelton (Eldon) of Rapid City, S.D., Terry Corey (Steve) of Shelton and Shelly Hargraves (Bob Smith) of Shelton; sons Steve Friesner (Sue) of Estherville, Iowa and Chuck Friesner (Danni Egen) of Olympia; Aloma's children Monica Nerney (Larry) of Shelton and Terry Brownfield (Cher- yl) of Shelton; 14 grandchil- dren; nine great-grandchil- dren; sister Vi Henderson of Tennessee; brothers Harold Friesner ofArtesia, N.M. and Cecil Friesner of Bloom- ing Prairie, Minn. and nu- merous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ardith A. Brown Ardith A. Brown, 76, died April 23, 2012, at Harstine Island Adult Family Home in Shelton. She was a resi- dent of Grapeview. She was born Sept. 22, 1'935, in Moorhead, Minn., to Albert and Ruth (Stemph) Nelson. She graduated in 1954 from South Kitsap High School. She ......... married Donald il in Port K. Brown ~Orchard on Aug. 5, 1955. She was Ardith a home- Brown maker. She was a member of the Mason-Benson Club, a swim group and MNWOT (a women's investment group). In her earlier days she was active in her daughter's par- ticipation in Girl Scouts as a Girl Scout leader. Her hob- bies included cooking, bak- ing, sewing, needlework and reading. Her family shared that she was nicknamed Me-ma by her grandchildren and that her family and her grandchildren were the true light of her life. They said the musical talents of her grandchildren were a direct reflection of her devotion and love. She is survived by her husband Don Brown of Grapeview; daughters Don- na Arcuri of Tacoma, Karen Robblee (Kim) of Puy- allup and Jeanne Mackin (Patrick) of Springfield, Va.; brothers James Nelson (Jo'Rene) of Gig Harbor and Gary Nelson (Linda) of Port Orchard; grandchildren Kyle and Kelly Robblee, Brian, the plumbing business. He apprenticed in the trade, which led to a future of con- tractor positions. His r~sum~ included Simpson Timber working shift hours for many years while raising his young family. He then worked for Rex Floor Covering for sev- eral years before deciding to venture out on his own and establishing his business, Angela, Brandon and Daniel an electronics and computer Arcuri and Samuel Mackin; tech. seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, neph- ews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald. A service was held on April 27 at the Mason-Ben- son Club. He was a resident of Onalaska. He was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Chehalis to John Wick- liffe Bogar and Laura Alice Hitch. He attended schools in Onalaska, graduating from Onalaska High School. His favorite sport was football. He enjoyed hunt- ing, fishing, clamming and iiiiiiiiii~iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!iiiiiiiiiiiii!i!!!ii%iiii!!ii~i!iiiiii~i 0 ........ John Bogar everything outdoors. His family shared he was crazy about his three wie- ner dogs and treat- ed them as part of the family. He is survived by his wife, Phredd (Phyllis); daughters Linda Steele (Bob) and Jill McNaught (Scott); son John (Lisa) Bogar Jr.; stepchildren, Terri Farrier (Ed), Toni Hutson (Shane) and Ted Smith (Karen); 13 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; best friends Gene Rasmussen and Them- as Brooks; and sister Betty DuPree. His parents preceded him in death. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. James Roland Carr James Roland Carr, 77, died April 23, 2012, at Ma- son General Hospital. He was a resident of Shelton for 24 years. He was born March 18, 1935, in Toppenish to Eu- gene Homer and Myrtle (Skinner) Carr. iiiiii%i,:i ii!iiii iiii!iiiii i !iii :!iii! i James Carr He was a member of the U.S. Navy and served un- til 1959. He mar- ried Judith K. Conrick in Zillah on Oct. 25, 1969. He was previously married to Shirley Mae Wil- son. The marriage ended in divorce. He was an aircraft me- chanic in the Navy during the Korean War and a cow- boy in eastern Washington. He planted trees for Weyerhaeuser, and worked at Motorola and RCA in Chicago and at Telex (a subcontractor for Boeing) as He was also an electrician in Sunnyside (Jim's Repair), and worked at the Wash- ington State Department of Labor and Industries for 17 years as an inspector, retir- ing in 2000. He was a member of the Belfair Assembly of God Church, the Masons, F & A M Kilwinning No. 311 in Chicago and the VFW. He was a volunteer ham radio tester and had an amateur radio license. He enjoyed sailing, wood- working, amateur radio, fly- ing and shooting guns. As a young boy, he was in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He is survived by his wife Judith Carr of Shelton; sons James H. Carr of Arizona, Chadwick R. Carr of Ports- mouth, Va., Charles W. Carr (Ginny) of Kissimmee, Fla., and Timothy Sean Carr of New York; daughter Erin Eileen Thurman of Shelton; sister Patricia Ann Morris of Centralia; six grandchildren and numerous nieces, neph- ews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Myrtle Carr, brother Gordon Carr and son Benjamin A. Carr. A graveside service was held on April 27 at Tahoma National Cemetery. In 1981 he went to work for Lumber- men's, now named ProBuild, where he Ronald worked Fosdick for many years in a variety of contractor sales positions until he formally retired in 2009. After retirement, he en- joyed frequenting the 40 et 8 and the Veterans Club, going to the casinos, reading western and fantasy novels and hanging out with his best buddies from ProBuild to shoot the breeze, his fam- ily said. His family said he was a familiar face around Shelton and will truly be missed by all that knew him, including his beloved canine pal of 14 years, Kizzi. He is survived by his son Wendell Fosdick (Barb) of Shelton; daughters Ronali Ernsberger (Kirk) of Sherman, Texas, and Kelli Johnson (Owen) of Wapato; sister Laverne Gilman of Shelton; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchil- dren. His parents Lloyd and Geldie Fosdick preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 12 at the Hope Chapel, 421 W. E St., Shelton. Clyde Fitzgerald Clyde Fitzgerald died April 24, 2012, at Fir Lane Health in Shelton. He was a resident of Hoodsport. He was born on May 26, 1938, in Pittsburgh to James and Mary Fitzgerald. He grew up in Pittsburgh and was a swimmer and diver, winning many awards and medals throughout the city. He spent his working years at Black & Decker in Califor- nia, Hawaii and Seattle. He retired in Hoodsport. His family shared that he made many friends and was well liked by all. He had a smile for everybody and was willing and ready to help all, his family shared. His brothers Norman of Columbus, Ohio, and Wil- liam of State College, Pa.; sisters Carol, Mary and Dorothy of Pittsburgh and Delores of Mansfield, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James and Raymond. At his request no service will be held. Ronald L. Fosdick Ronald L. Fosdick, 75, died April 20, 2012, at home in Shelton. He was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Shelton to Warren L. and Goldie A. (Geodwin) Fosdick. He graduated in 1954 from Mary M. Knight High School in Matlock. He married Wanda Lee Madison in Montesano in 1955. The marriage ended in divorce. He began his career in James Edward Jeffery James Edward Jeffery, 86, died April 24, 2012, at Providence St. Peters Hos- pital in Olympia. He was a resident of Shelton. He was born May 8, 1925 in Pocatello, Idaho to Clar- ence Monroe Jeffery and Johanna Ruff Jeffery. He attended schools in Pocatello and enlisted in the ~U.S. Navy at age 17. He served on mer- chant ships in the Pa- cific until the end of the war, at which James time he Jeffery returned to Pocatello and was employed at the U.S. Naval Ordnance Plant until its closure. He moved to Bremerton where he was employed as a machinist/supervisor at the Navy shipyard until his retirement. His many recreational interests included hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and sailing. He also enjoyed building things, such as his sailboat and houses and traveling with his wife, Mona. He was an active member of the Mr. Olive Lutheran Church for many years. He is survived by his wife Monna; son James Jeffery Jr. (Wendy); grandsons Aslan Jeffery and David Jeffery; grand-daughter Serena Jef- fery; four great- grandchil- dren; sisters Barbara Reed of McMinnville, Ore., and Patri- cia Brick of Bellevue. His brothers Ray and Wil- liam Jeffery preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Satur- day at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 206 E. Wyandotte Ave. in Shelton. Letha was born on December 14, 1925 to William Franklin and Clara Elizabeth (Ritchie) Wilson in Morton, WA. She resided with her daughter Theresa and son in law, Ron Jonker of Shelton along with her beloved dog, "Angie". She is also survived by her son William Blanchard Jr, Montesano; grandchildren, David Blanchard, Ronald Jonker Jr. and Robert Jonker; great grandson, Zackary Jonker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Letha was a former member of the Eastern Star in the Forks and Montesano areas. She was a devoted Mariner fan and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, cooking, fishing, camping, traveling, golfing, birds, bridge, art, reading and crossword puzzles. She was very fond of her family. She is preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
