Card Party to Be Held Friday/it Lilliwaup

amalty Chub will hold a party Fri-
day evenirfg M ly 8 Pinochle will
bc played to start at 8 p,m. This
will be the last card party in a
series of five. Prizes for high and
low score will be awarded for the
aeries, also prizes for high and low
score and 300 pinochle for the card
party. A new series will start May
22. Refreshments ill be served
by the hostesses.
MRS. HATTIE Arthur of Se-
attle is spending a few weeks on
Hood Canal visiting friends. Mr.
Harley Hathaway of Olympia a
former resident of Lilliwaup his
brother and*wife Mr. and 5i,s.
Charles' tiathaway of Idaho and
:his sister from Salt I,de City,
Utah visited the Vanccs last, Fri-
day.
The Black Month have started
to run in the Canal. Edd Osteberg
of Shelton was one of the lucky
fishermen Saturday getting his
limit going out from Restwhile
boat house.
Mrs. Hattie Arthur of Seattle
entertained a group of neighbors
and friends at her Canal summer
home at Eldon Wednesday
This was the 14th annual Dan-
given for tcl, iltJly f:'itmOs. Many

l)em/ark. The o('easio, \\;,.'ls to ('c]-
ebrate the birthday of, Mrs. Ar-
thur which was "in April. The
guests presented Mrs. Arthur wiih
many lovely gifts. She as usual
had saved her birthday cake and
brought it for the dinner. It was
beautifully decorated with yellow
roses.
THOSE ENJOYING the birth-
day party were Mesdames Minnie
Sauers, llora Lockwood, Millie
Diesen, Allie Ahl, Ann VVebb,
Pearl Meyer, Stalls Morken, Fran-
