Lake Limerick
New trustees have
meeting recently
By MARTHA HEIMSATH
"Spring has sprung" or maybe
it's golf and fishing that are
attracting so many of our
members to the lake.
The new board of trustees had
a special meeting May 3 in the
banquet room, with all in
attendance. Following are the
chairmen or chairpersons of the
standing committees: Bob Jacobs,
architectural; Howard Yates,
budget; Earl Mackin, finance;
Jack Boyd, golf; Howard Yates,
lake; Mickey Backus and Patty
Gronseth (jointly), newsletter and
advertising; Myrvin Dimmitt,
personnel; and Don Arnold,
social. Members of the water
committee were voted on at the
annual meeting.
Mickey Backus celebrated
Mother's Day a week early when
her sons and their families were
here May 4 to get some of mom's
good home cooking again.
The friends of Graham
Bingham, division two, were
saddened to hear of his death last
week after a long illness. Graham
was buried in Puyallup May 1.
Brain surgery was performed
on Marlene Sheldon's
19-month-old grandson two
weeks ago. The young man was
playing on a slide when he
accidentally slid down headfirst,
fracturing his skull.
Memorial Day weekend is
May 24 and 25, so the home and
home game with Clover Valley
has been changed to June 1. This
golf competition is to be held at
Lake Limerick.
May 3 the juniors of Shelton
High School had their junior
prom at Lake Limerick Inn.
In spite of a variety of
weather - rain, wind and sun -
the Ladies Golf Club had a good
turn-out for their medal play
Sunday. Barbara Olson won first;
Maxine Peterson, second; and
Esther Wells, third.
May 10 the architectural
committee will meet at 11 a.m. in
the banquet room at the
clubhouse.
Man most detestable
Of all created creatures man is the
most detestable. Of the entire
brood he is the only one ... that
possesses malice... Also... he is
the only creature that has a nasty
mind.
Mark Twain
