Six three—member teams have signed up for the event that features a community spelling bee, silent auction, dessert buffet and live music, hosted 4 to 8 p.m. June 29 at The Pavilion at Sentry Park at the Mason County nior Activities Center at 190 W. Sentry Drive. Sound Learning has plenty of spon- sors for the teams and needs spellers to help fill out the threesomes for hope— fully another three or four teams, said Shannon Klasell, the group’s executive director. “People say, ‘I can’t spell!’ It’s really all in fun,” she said. The event features light-hearted banter between the teams and the judges — sometimes “bribes” are of- fered in full View Ofthe audience and most importantly, raises money to help adults become more literate. The silent auction items for the event include four tickets to a Seattle Storm basketball game, framed art, oil changes at Denny’s Auto Service, spa visits at Little Creek Casino Resort and Vance Creek Railriders tickets. Spell-E-Bration is the biggest fund- raiser for the Shelton-based nonprofit group, which was founded 33 years ago.
