Arden John Pierce, 92, passed away peacefully on May
4, surrounded by his loving family. Arden was born
on December 27, 1931 in Hoquiam, WA to Rue] Pierce and
Catherine Prodl.
Arden was a lifetime resident of Mason County. During
his early years of growing up on the Hood Canal, he
developed his love of the great outdoors. He served in the
US. Army, as a medic in the Korean War and went on to
have a successful career as a Christmas tree grower, owner
and operator ofhis own tree farms.
In 1979,1'1e wed his wife of45 years, Faye. After retirement
he and Faye traveled all over the United States in their motor
home. '1 hey especially loved visiting Alaska.
Arden John Pierce was known for his kindness, and his
giving, generous personality. He had a love for his pets and
spending time at Mason Lake with his family and friends.
Arden will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Faye, daughters, Cindy Ramsfield
(Jay), Tina Pierce, Linda Drogmund (Rob), Lori Davis
(Dave), and Cathy Crabtree (Shawn). Arden loved his
numerous grandchildren, great~grandchildren and one
great—great—grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son
Rick Warren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor
to Adopt—a—Pet of Mason County. There are no service
arrangements at this time.

Donald Corliss \
Donald Corliss, of Shelton, WA, born
April 28, 1941 passed away April 27,
from cancer. He is survived by
his wife Susan of 37 years and three
stepchildren, Wendy Guinn of North
Carolina, Joseph Weber of Belfair and
David Weber of Key Peninsula, also, two
sons from a previous marriage, Bryan
Corliss of Sammamish, and Aaron Corliss
of Belfair, ten grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by a twin brother, David Corliss and a
stepson, Philip Weber.
In his accomplishments, he had taught
boat safety classes with the Bremerton
Power Squadron and he spent several
years with the Belfair Lions Club. He
was also a member of the Yesteryear Car
Club of Shelton. He was known for and so
proud of his big blue Chrysler Imperial, which he had restored and would
show
around the peninsula at various car shows, winning 53 trophies. He began
his Meat
Cutter career at Popes in Belfair, WA and retired as a Meat Cutter from
Safeway in
Bremerton, WA.
He will be so missed by so many!
At Donald’s request there will not be a service but will be interned at
Miller

Ann Elizabeth McGrady Kimball (Lennox)
Ann Elizabeth Mc(’}rady Kimball
(Lennox) was born May 11, 1941, in
Somers Point, NJ where she lived with her
mother, Ruth, grandmother, Irma, and her
aunt, Sandra. who was like a sister to her
until the age of 15.
Pollowing Ruth’s marriage to Daniel
Sullivan, they moved toLong Island, where
Ann became the big sister to five siblings:
Daniel, Sandra, Colleen, James, and Ruth.
'lhey considered her a second mother and
enjoyed a unique and special bond. Ann
graduated from I’lauppauge High School
on Long Island in 1959, and she worked in
the healthcare and food service industries.
She married Seamus McGrady and moved
to Connecticut, where they had two
children, Dan and Maggie. The family
moved across the country to Lilliwaup,
WA. on Hood Canal, and lived in the McGrady family home. A lifelong career
in
hospitality led her to restaurants along Hood Canal, where she treated
everyone like
family.
On March 20, 1994, Ann married Tom Kimball and lived in the Shelton area
for
30 years. Together they shared their love of horses, crossword puzzles and
nature.
Ann was a great cook and generously shared her recipes. She was an avid
reader
and loved the feeling ofa book in her hands. She had a great love for cats,
relished
the sound of waves at the shore, and her greatest love was spending time
with her
family. Her sense ofhumor was very unassuming. Her unique mixture of subtle
wit
and cleverness left everyone with a pleasant smile, lightened mood and
unexpected '
good laugh.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Seamus. Ann
is survived by her husband Tom; siblings Dan (Laura), Sandra (Bob), Colleen
(Lou), James, and Ruth (Colin); children Maggie (Diego) and Dan (Jeanne);
many
stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A potluck memorial is being held for Ann on Saturday, May 18, at 2:00 pm.
at the
Matlock Community Church on Mallock—l)eckerville Road.

Gary Val Jackson
Gary Val Jackson, of Lake Cushman, passed away Saturday, March 23,
surrounded by his children, Gary Jr.,.KeVin and Tracy.
Gary was born November 11, 1938 to Gus V. and Betty (Millar) Jackson in
Seattle,
WA and spent his childhood in Ballard, graduating from Ballard High School.
He
joined the U.S. Army in September 1960 and served four years and was part
of the
US. Army Reserves until January 1966. Gary moved to Hoquiam after leaving
the
Army and began working for Lambs Grays Harbor in 1964 as a welder. He moved
to Olympia in 1984 where he worked for the State of Washington and
'l‘umwater
Valley Golf.
Gary was a kind, gentle and loving husband and father. He was goofy and
always
was a quick wit. He was active and youthful even at 85. He enjoyed playing
golf and
puttering around his home working on projects and big plans.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife Judy, parents Gus and Betty Jackson,
and
brother Ted Jackson. He is survived by his sons, Gary Jr., Kevin (Jan)
Dahl, and his
daughter, Tracy (Steve) Dahl—Lougheed, brother Terry Jackson, four
grandchildren
and three greatvgrandchildren. He is also survived by Judy‘s children
Gregg Lewis,
KBrenda (Jeff) Philpot and their two sons.
K Robert “Bob” Michael Whitmarsh
January 23, 1946 March 26,
Robert Michael Whitmarsh was born
January 23, 1946. He passed away on
March 26, He was born to Robert
and Doris W hitmarsh, who preceded
him in death. He was their only son and
was raised with his four sisters. He grew
up in Shelton, WA, and graduated from
Shelton ‘High School in 1964. He went on
to graduate from Western Washington
University.
Bob worked in California, Alaska and
Oregon in the insurance business before
retiring and buying the Yakima Watermill
from his uncle. He recently sold the I
business.
He is survived by his sisters Diana
Wright, Deana Healy (Rick) and Liana
Schoening (Brian). His youngest sister
Lee Anna preceded him in death. He also
leaves behind 11 nieces and nephews,
along with many, many great and greatgreat nieces and nephews.
His employees became like family to him. He felt blessed to have so many
loyal
employees who became great friends.
He will be missed by his family, friends and community.
A celebration of Bobs life is being held on May 18th, at St. Andrews
Church,
540 School Street in Lacey, WA 98503.
