Cars, trucks and a firetruck festooned with purple balloons wound throngh town to advertise the annual American Cancer Society event to raise money to help cancer survivors and find a cure for the disease. The event is tentatively set for Sept. 26 at Kneeland Park in downtown Shelton. Our staff and network of trained 4-H volunteers have had to quickly understand the impact of COVID—19 and develop a plan of ac- tion to support our members and our community. These resources are available on our website and Facebook page to all families in our community. , Successes: A Virtual animal meetup was held giving youths an op- portunity to Zoom with their project animals or pets, we learned about poultry, dogs, goats, rabbits, and cats. With the Grays Harbor County Fair being canceled, the 4-H program is plan- ning a Virtual showcase for members to exhibit their projects and showcase their learning. We will be using the online prOgram called FairEntry. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting opportunity. We are also creating 4-H activity kits that will be available to 4-H members to take home. These kits will include some hands-on learning activities that are sure to keep youths engaged and learning at home. More on this will be available soon.
