Falling seedsware the perfect reason to hire a grandkid to wash your car

turning orange. Those
little seed pods from,
the western red cedars
are falling everywhere.
When they are in full '
fall-down-on-the-road
mode I can see my car
leave a two-wheel path CAL
through them. These
little guys, smaller

bine the red seeds
with the light green

len and you have the
perfect reason to hire
a grandkid to wash
your car.
Coming across
the bridge onto the
island, the reader-
board has a couple
new items posted on
it. One of them is in
reference to the Pioneer School
food drive. They are asking
you to remember and donate
to Pioneer Food Bank, 500
North Island Drive, Shelton
WA 98584. It’s heart-warming
to see how many people are
donating food and amazing
the sacrifices these volunteers
make to ensure it gets into the
hands of those who need it.
The second new item is a
reminder that it is that time
of year that does, female deer,
are giving birth. The doe usu-
ally finds a solitary place to-
have her young'and after a
week or so, when the fawn is
strong enough, mom keeps her
young’uns close as she forages
for food. That means, mom can
be leading her fawns across
the road and those fawns still
haven’t learned what a car is.
So, please be on the alert. .
