V Klns' MESSAGE by Theresa Murray : What is YOUR relationship with Jesus like? We are all different--fr0m our personalities and physical appearances to our talents and cultures. I remember singing, as a child, “Jesus loves the little children, all the little . children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.” I took that literally. ALL the children of the world. No matter what color or nationality! There is NO racism! One of my favorite scriptures is John 10:16: “I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to My voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.” What do you think a “fold” means? A fold is a flock. Jesus was preaching to Jews, and He meant others, like you and me, who were not of that flock, would also be called and hear His voice. A church can also be a fold. The pastor or priest is the shepherd of that church. Think of ALL the different churches in the WHOLE world! It doesn’t matter what the name on the buildings are! Those names just mean we worship with people who interpret the Bible like we do! But Jesus still talks to all of us! He doesn’t care what building we are in! If we all love Jesus, we are on the same side! I love this scripture in Mark 9:38—40: John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he wasn’t in our group.” Jesus said, “Don’t stop him! No one'who performs a miracle in my name will soon be able to speak evil of me, Anyone who is not against us is for us.” ' I believe He is calling us to all become one, in unity and harmony with Him, as it says in Ephesians 4:1-6: “Therefore I, a prisoner for- serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.” Unity of spirit”, “bond of peace”, “one faith”, “one baptism”. THAT says it all! ALL the little children of the world... So it doesn’t matter if you’re Jewish, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal, a Latter-Day Saint, or Seventh-Day Adventist—your flock is not the only flock Jesus will be the shepherd of. He is going to blend us all into one flock, one body, one Spirit. It doesn’t matter if you are Black, White, Native American, Asian, or purple!! He made everyone to be equal! Jesus is not racist, so we shouldn’t be either! We should celebrate each other, and compliment each other, for the unique way God made us, so we don’t all look alike, like robots! There is NO racism in Heaven! We are all beautiful to Him! He says, “My sheep listen to My voice: I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from Me, for My Father has giVen them to Me, and He is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.” John 10:27-30. That makes me feel safe and secure! It comforts me! I want Him to be MY shepherd, and I want Him walking beside me, as my Savior, my Shepherd, and my Friend. Don’t you?
