Knight High School track and field team went to Ocosta High School in Ocosta for the final regular season meet of the season. The girls team finished fourth out of five schools with 22 team points. Northwest Christian High School took first with 111 points, followed by Willapa Valley High School (92) and Ocos- ta (91). Linda Cook took first in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet. "She'll be able to stay heathy." Hannah Frost earned a second place time of 2:54 in the 800-meter run while also finishing fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:11.48) and fifth in the discus (74 feet and three inches). Brehmeyer said Frost's main event is in the 800 meters, but will have to work on starting on a fast pace to get past districts. "We need to get Hannah's first lap to be a little bit faster,~ Brehmeyer said. Mary M, Knight's Kiah Lofgren took a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash (15.19 seconds) in addition to a fourth place finish in the triple jump ~24 feet, three inches). But on May 4 at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Shelton High School's junior varsity team won by a score of 23-21. "It was just crazy," said Shelton JV coach Scotti Crump. "That's the best game as a coach that I have seen." The game started off slow through the first three innings when South Kitsap led 5-2 before scoring two runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth. Shelton scored six runs of their own in the fifth in- ning and four in the sixth inning. But the Lady Highclimb- ers scored 11 runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the four-run lead. Anna Pantoja went two for three at the plate but stole four bases. Katie Madison went three for four with three stolen bases of her own. Shelton had 19 hits com- bined in the game while the Lady Wolves collected 21 hits. "They [Lady Highclimb- ers] just didn't give up," Crump said. "They were just doing everything right." The JV Lady Highclimb- ers ended their season with a 7-2 victory against Gig Harbor High School on Tuesday at MCRA in Shel- ton.
