what gastroparesis is, how to identify
and treat it, and how it can be pre-

people with type I or type 2 diabetes,
their friends and family.

Cancer support
group to take
Harmony Hill Retreat Center and
Mason General Hospital & Family of
Clinics will co-host the monthly cancer
support group. The group meeting is
scheduled to take place from 6 to 7:30
p.m. the third Monday of each month
in the Pershing Room at Mason Gen-
eral Hospital in Shelton, through the
hospital's main entrance. The next
meeting is May 16.
Ronnie Hacken, a cancer retreat
facilitator at Harmony Hill, leads the
meetings. For more information, call

Hospital hosts
women's event
Mason General Hospital & Family
of Clinics has scheduled a free Wom-
en's Health Event from 8 a.m. to noon
on Saturday at the main entrance of
the hospital.
Hospital employees will offer free
services and health information, such
as nutritional guidance and free blood
pressure and diabetes tests.
The first 50 women age 40 to 65
who are uninsured or under-insured
can receive a free digital mammogram
and cervical cancer screening.
Free healthy refreshments and
mini-massages, provided by Kaledis-
cope Massage, will also be available.

Presentation offers
Medicare help
The Statewide Health Insurance
Benefits Advisors offer a monthly pro-
gram on dealing with Medicare. The
presentation, "New to Medicare," will
take place from 11 a.m. to noon at the
Mason County Senior Center at 190
W. Sentry Drive in Shelton, on the
fourth Thursday of each month. The
next presentation is May 26.
The Statewide Health Insurance

confidential information regarding

Hospital presents
'Living Well with
The Mason General Hospital &
Family of Clinics will host a three-day
class on diabetes self-management
called "Living Well with Diabetes."
The hospital's Diabetes Wellness
program will host a team of clinical
experts who will cover everything dia-
betes, including diagnosis, medication,
meal planning, prevention and treat-
ment of complications.
The class will run from 6 to 9 p.m.
on June 7 and 8, and from 6 to 8 p.m.
June 9 in the Pershing Room at Mason
General.
