Rose Townsend has watched the credit union grow
from a three-person office to the full service credit
union, now serving 6,000 members. She came to
the Mason County Credit Union in June of 1963,
working the counter and posting machine in the
old office on Fourth and Railroad. When the
offices moved to Fourth and Cedar, Rose became
head teller and bookkeeper of a rapidly growing
organization. As the staff increased through the
'70s, specialization became necessary; and Rose has
found her niche working with Assistant Manager,
Gus Hoag, in the control of delinquency.
Rose and her husband, Joe, a pilot for J. D. Dutton
Company, currently reside on Lost Lake Road in
Shelton. Together they enjoy gardening around
their country home. Of her experience with the
credit union, Rose says, "It has been rewarding to
see growth accompanied each year by more
meaningful service to members."
Jess Brownfield, age 2Vz, and son of Mike and Sally
Brownfield, is April's winner in the credit union bank bag
contest. Jess is the biggest winner yet; he had $13.41 in
• coins in his bag. When his number was drawn on April 30th,
the credit union matched that amount. To involve your
kids in this fun savings contest, just ask any one of the
credit union tellers.
