Knight 311, Rt. 1, Washington ble, recent improvements The Shelton Park Board reported this week a number of projects in parks in the city had been completed or were in the process of being completed. They said new bleachers have been constructed at Callanan Park and are being painted. There is also a new dug out area and score box at the park along with new rest rooms and paving in some of 'the bleacher and parking areas. The playing field was lengthened and a new fence erected. The summer tennis program at Kneeland Park is being planned and new lighting for the courts is being investigated. A new geometric playyard dome is being assembled. Fencing and a merry-go-round have been added at Johnson Park. Dinner raises funds for ill teacher A recent fund-raising carnival and dinner for Shelton teacher Cathy Evenson raised more than $1,800, it was reported this week. The fund raising for Ms. Evanson, who has been ill and unable to teach for several months, was sponsored by Shelton teachers. Ruth Goodwin, secretary of the Shelton Education Association, said this week "the extraordinary success of the University of Washington. The course fee is $17,-which includes all instructional sessions and materials, a catered luncheon and coffee service. The course is offered by the university's school of business administration in cooperation with continuing education's office of short courses and conferences. Further information may be obtained by calling 543-5280. Representatives from the food and drug administration, state attorney general's office, state department of agriculture and others will speak on such topics as "Food Dollars and Sense," "How to Shop for Credit," "How to Buy a Used Car," and other topics. Jim and Vivian Moore of Tacoma will present a folk concert May 25 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at King and G streets as part of the Key '73 participation in Forest Festival. For several years Moore and a college classmate, Tom Page, toured the United States as a singing duo known as "Dust and Ashes." They still record for Avante Garde Recordings under that title. The public is welcome to enjoy the concert by "Jim and Vivian." May 26 young people from various churches in Mason County will carry banners in the Forest Festival parade and then proceed to Kneeland Park for a sing-in led by Jim and Vivian Moore.
