Joining the list of winners is
Doug Raines with a win in the
125 class of the Motocross race
held at the HiSide Park last
month. This was more like it after
Doug had a run of bad luck with
mechanical problems of van and
motorbike that brought an early
return from the planned
competition in Florida and other
southern states. A recent run at
Livermore, California, ended with
an accident and painful injuries
during a trial run prior to race
time.
Darrell Raines had a bit of
winning in the 250 class of the
all-high school run sponsored by
South Kitsap.
The Stanley Bishop home has

The Kinney's travelogue lists
Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and
Missouri, of seeing things and
meeting family members along
the way. There were a few places
that confirmed the fact that
Washington weather is mild by
comparison; nine inches of rain in
an hour, hail storms, tornados and
destructive high winds. They also
saw where there was a loss of the
crop harvest of corn and soy
beans due to rain since last
October and the consequent delay
of needed spring planting. (Think
of rain and more rain since last
October and compare that with
our sunshine.)
A review of an ad in this
paper some time ago: an elderly
couple wish to employ someone
to do ironing and housework
several times a week in their home
near Belfair. With the man
confined to a wheelchair, a local
person would be more convenient
by being on call as needed, and a
car would be of help. Mrs. Kiehn
may be called at CR5-2462 for
more details.

PAUL ARMSTRONG holds one of the 12 rainbow trout which were taken
from the pond at the Simpson office building and released in Shelton Creek
this week. The fish were placed in the pond about a year ago. After the pond
ms cleaned, 100 eastern brook trout will be planted in the pond to spend the
