Personal Development offers free
confidential support groups for
survivors of sexual assault.
These support groups are called
Courage to Heal and provide a
safe place to talk about feelings,
trust, boundaries, healing, family,
growing up again and how to have
healthier relationships.
This muiti-service, nonprofit
center is located at 221 West Rail-
road Avenue in Suite E of the 1912
Building. It strives to create a saih
atmosphere for sexual assault sur-
vivors to be heard, respected and
understood.
The next support group fbr
adult survivors of child sexual
abuse is forming and will run fbr
eight weeks. More information is
available by calling 426-6925.
I have known women whose
laughter resembles
the cacklings of a hen.
I have known donkeys whose
braying is much
like the laughter of so many men.
I prefer laughter both gentle and
low and as soi as a summer
breeze
caressing the flowers and ruffling
the waters
and wandering through the trees.
However, when all is said and
done
any laughter here is better than
none.
Unless otherwise noted, all
events take place at the Mason
County Senior Activities Center
at 826 West Railroad Avenue. The
senior center hours are from 8 a.m.
to 4 p.m. The center's telephone
desk (426-7374) is closed for lunch
from noon till 12:30 p.m.
