tryouts set
Age-group cheerleading's "Elec-
tric Extreme" contingent of Shel-
ton reports it will have tryouts for
its 2007-8 season this month.
For all boys and girls ages 5-15,
they will be from 6 to 8 p.m. May
21 and May 24 at Shelton's Olym-
pic Middle School.
As was the case this past year,
there will be two separate Elec-
tric Extreme squads - one for the
"Minis" and one for the older "Ju-
niors."
The Minis are coached by Sa-
Vanna Visser (970-7353), the
Juniors by Jessica Plampin (426-
5169). They say their plans for the
coming year include six to eight
competitions culminating in a
biggie in California the end of
March plus various parades and
other community performances.
This past year's hip-hop-style
.,Junior team ended its inaugural
season with a third-place show-
ing at the Pac West Nationals in
Portland. Earlier it topped all in
the "Best of the Northwest" spirit
cheer and the "All Things Cheer"
competitions in Tacoma, took sec-
ond in the National Cheerleading
Association showdown in Gig Har-
bor and the Galaxy Cheer Chal-
lenge in Kentwood and placed
third in the Power Athletics Na-
tionals in Tacoma.
