Fifth and sixth grade students
from Bordeaux School had a
science fair last Thursday and
Friday.
There were 49 exhibits from
sixth graders and 14 from fifth
graders.
The exhibits
day Thursday and
p.m. that evening
Friday so other
were open all
from 6:30 to 8
and until noon
students and
parents could see them.
The exhibits were judged by a
chemistry class from Shelton High
School.
Blue ribbon winners from the
fifth grade were Tim Richard's
maze for testing hamsters' and
gerbils' intelligence, and Richard
Samaduroff's telegraph.
Blue ribbon winners from the
sixth grade were Julia Gischer's
salt water aquarium, Shelly
Hanson's homemade bar camera,
Dick Anderson and Darrell
Chamberlin's space travel, Don
Kinnard's and Billy Strutz'
homemade telephone, Teri
Rhodes' and Marge Willey's
incubator and chicks, and Kathy
Riker's and Sandy Davidson's
our solar system.
Church to talk
about education
There will be a potluck dinner
after the 11 a.m. Sunday morning
service at the Skokomish
Community Church, May 25,
followed by a special business
meeting at which formation of an
Accelerated Christian Education
School will be discussed.
All persons interested in their
children receiving the highest
quality education in conjunction
with a good Christian upbringing
are welcome to attend this
meeting to present their views and
questions.
The school is being considered
for the general Shelton area.
SPACE TRAVEL was the subject of an exhibit which won a blue ribbon for
two boys in the Bordeaux fifth and sixth grade science fair.
A MODEL TELEGRAPH was one of the blue ribbon winners in the
Bordeaux fifth and sixth grade science fair last week.
Forest Festival
Grange degree
work is planned
Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday
the Progress Grange degree team
will confer the fifth or Pomona
degree at their hall. A potluck
lunch will follow the degree work.
All Pomona officers are expected
to be in attendance. Subordinate
masters should urge members to
take advantage of this
opportunity before state session
in June.
