For many years Mr. and Mrs. Garold Swayze and their
friends, Janice and Harold Claussen, have thought about turning
their part-time hobby into a profitable business venture. The
hobby that they all share is collecting and restoring antique and
second-hand items.
"Our homes were starting to run over with the things that we
found," says Mrs. Swayze with a smile, "so we decided to start a
business." With that in mind, the two couples combined their
extensive collections, added some new items and opened the
doors of the Hillcrest Second Hand Store.
A tour through the new store reveals that the Swayze and
Claussen families are experienced collectors. They have filled the
new shop with a large variety of merchandise to satisfy a wide
range of customers. For antique hunters they offer beautiful
furniture and unusual collectibles. For the bargain hunter they
have hundreds of inexpensive second-hand items.
The Hillcrest Second Hand Store is located on Olympic
Highway South,just across from Byrne Bu d ng Supplies. Vi
Stickley helped the new owners with the purchase of the
building.
