Third Grade Class Presents Play Last Week;
Second Graders Take Field Trip Into Woods
HOODSPORT SCHOOL ..... All
students and teachers were in-
vited to see a play given by Mrs.
Avey's third grade class. The name
of the play was "What tile Old
Man Does is Always Right." The
east included Steven Linens, Lin-
da Bailey, Richard Decno, Wan-
da Plant, Roxanna Allen, Sheryl
James, Kristi Dillon, Joey Bing-
ley, Cheryl Campbell, Dehbi Bou-
ham and Ronnie Michler.... Mrs.
Bing]ey, Mrs. Bonham and Mr.
Avey were special gue~,~ts. 'l'ammie
Blackie thoughtfully brought cook-
ies to treat tile members in the
play.
SECOND GRADE NEWS--Th(
Dry Creek area above Lake Cush-
man was a 'happy hunting ground'
for the second graders last Tues-
day when the e.lass took its an-
nual forestry trip under the super-
vision of Jack Rae of the U. S.
Forest Service. Beaver sticks,
leaves, frogs (retm'ned 1.o thcir
ha.tints ), river rocks, wood cores
and other treasured itenls were
carefully earled home. Aeeolnpany-
ing the youngsters, besides :Mrs.
Moore, and Mr. Gray and Mr.
Rat', was Mrs. Lym~ Jensen .

Arts and Crafts-Show in Shelton

THIRD GRADE NEWS -- The
Third graders of ]-lood Canal

way home they stopped at the
Dairy Queen to buy goodies. This
is an annual event for third grad-
era. On the return through She'.-
ton, the children got to stop at
Mrs. Sjohohn's home in town to
see the goldfish outdoor pond. Thc
third graders in Mrs. Sjoholm's
room finished their inseet hook-
lets and tool( them home for their
parents to enjoy. Lorraine Dean
and Brad Deyette got the first
prizes for best booklets and Jean-
ne CandiD(it and Bradley Bearden
got second prizes.Everyone felt
that they learned a great deal
about the insects,some being
friends and some being enemies to
man. Svan Tozier has been very
ill and absent from class for two
weeks now. We are happy to know
he is improving slow but sure

looking group of childrcn.
JUNIOR HIGH - 7TH GRADE

intensive review in preparation for
final thrust toward vacation time
Students are busy finishing their
term projects in geography.
LIBRARY - Mrs. Miller and

books to be back ill the library by
