League Spring Sports Female Scholar-Athlete.
"Shelton High School is proud to announce
that senior Highclimber student-athlete Brenna
Thompson was selected by the Narrows League

sports season," Shelton athletic director Jim Jud-
son said in a written statement.
She was given the award at the May 24 Shel-
ton School District board meeting at Choice High
School in Shelton.
Thompson said she received a phone call from
Judson the day of to appear at the school board
meeting and to also bring her family.
"I was assuming that it was just a general con-
gratulations for some senior athletes," she said.
But Thompson said she was surprised to learn
at the meeting of the award.
"I feel really honored," Thompson said.
Thompson competed at the 4A WIAA Track and
Field Championships for the fourth straight sea-

also lettered in volleyball.
But her work in the classroom got her the
league honor, maintaining a 4.0 grade point aver-
age while enrolled in the Running Start program.
After attending classes at Olympic College
Shelton last year, she enrolled to earn college cred-
its at South Puget Sound Community College in
Olympia.
"It im a little overwhelming but I've learned a
lot about time management and staying focused,"
