around 11 feet. Now the off-
season will include work on
strength and speed.
"It's been a really good
run for Bryton this year,"
Cole said. "He's got a lot of
potential for next year."
Two seniors finished their
careers on Friday, Brenna
Thompson and Tre Fisher.
Thompson, who has been
a top-tier competitor in the
400-meter dash all season,
fmished ninth in Friday's
preliminaries, unable to ad-
vance to the finals on Satur-
day.
Thompson still earned
a timeof 59.08 seconds, a
personal record, but missed
eighth by 0.8 seconds.
"It's tough to take," Sells
said, noting Thompson has
competed at state all four
years.
Sells said that the compe-
tition at the state champion-
ships in the 400-meter dash
had more depth than recent
years.
Despite Thompson's dis-
appointment after the race,
Sells said it has been a great
year and career for the Shel-
ton senior.
"She's been hard on her-
self but we're all proud of
her," he said.
Fisher made his debut
at the state championships
in the high jump, but could
not clear the first heigh of
six feet.
Practice leading up to
Friday's final was limited
for Fisher, who has had pain
in his left knee. His left leg
is his primary leg for the
launch, which limited the
power in his jumps.
"It's been bothering me
the last few weeks," Fish-
er said. "I wasn't getting
enoug h momentum into the
pit but I was getting over
the bar."
Originally heading to
Shasta College in Califor-
nia for college basketball,
Fisher has made a switch
after receiving an offer from
Western Washington Uni-
versity for baskethall add
track.
While his high school ca-
reer didn't have the p,u'lect
ending, Fisher w,r' too
upset afterwards.
"Things happen," he
said. "It's all about the day.
Whatever happens hap-
pens."
Shelton also had some of
their younger talent com-
peting in the girls' 4x200
relay race.
Junior Kandyce Bragg.
sophomore Kasey Bur-
bridge and freshman Nata-
lie Andrewski, along with
the senior Thompson. took
eigth in their heat.
But Sells is optimistic
about not only the three re-
turning state relay racers.
but the rest of the younr
athletes Shelton has return-
ing to next year's squad.
"We have the depth to fill
Brenna's spot, and you nev-
er know who's going to step
up," Sells said.
Timbers

"I feel like a lot of people
are tired," Strand said.
Strand went two out of
three with a RBI single in
the first inning. Wuestner
and Hayes each had two
hits as well.
But there were six Tim-
bers out of 11 batters that
• went without a hit.
"We're not hitting the
ball like we can," Strand
said.
One reason for the of-
fensive slump could be that
the Timbers have played 14
games in as many days.
After winning 11-4 in
Silverdale against Olym-
pic Jr." on Thursday, the
Timbers took part in the
Memorial Tournament in
Bremerton.
Shelton lost three games
at Legion Field in Bremer-
ton on Saturday - 9-4 to
the ESC Tigers, 3-1 to the
North Kitsap Americans
and 10-5 to the NW Blaze
16U.
The Timbers lost 8-3 to
Central Kitsap on Sunday
at Central Kitsap High
School before defeating
Post 68 (Bremerton) 4-1 at
Central Kitsap.
The Timbers have sched-
uled an invitational that
starts Saturday, June 4, at
Shelton High School.
The three teams coming
to Shelton are North Kit-
sap, Central Kitsap and
Post 68 (Bremerton).
Shelton then goes on to
play at Steilacoom High
School before a home and
home series on June 8 (in
Silverdale) and 9 (in-Shel-
ton) with Central Kitsap.

Instead of widening equally to both sides, widening will
primarily be toward the west side of the roadway.
Access to SR 3 from adjacent properties will be through
designated driveways or side streets.
Come and see how this change will affect access to SR 3
along the property area.
