Officers searched the area,
and, came up with two high
school students who had skipped
school for the afternoon. Mrs.
Boardman said neither one was the
youth who was in her home. They
were turned over to school
authorities.
Mrs. Boardman told officers
two bottles of liquor and possibly
some items from her son's room
were missing.
School Bus
Driver Honored
Mrs. Martha Cole, a bus driver
in the Shelton School District, is
retiring at the end of this school
year.
She was honored at a
retirement party Tuesday evening
by her fellow bus drivers and
friends.
Mrs. Cole started driving a bus
for the district in November,
1945 and has driven on the
Capitol Hill, Angleside and
Beverly tleights areas most of the
time.
In Court
For Shoplifting
A 1 7-year-old youth, who
appeared in Juvenile Court before
Judge Frank Baker was given 30
days to prove he could stay home
and stay out of trouble.
He had been brought into
court after being arrested out of
the county on a shoplifting
charge. He was already a ward of
the court and had a previous
juvenile record.
The 30-day continuance of
the case was recommended by
Probation Officer Gary Wood.
Pioneer Board
The Pioneer School District
Board will hold its regular June
meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the
school library.
ROGER HAMMOND was named as the winner of the
American Legion award at Pioneer School last week. Here, he
is presented with the award during the program. The
presentation was made by Mrs. Ruth Moore, adjutant of the
Fred B. Wivell American Legion Post.

Dies In Home
Skokomish
Mr. E. E. (Red) White of
Tacoma died in his home on May
19 at the age of 64 years. He was
born in Bellingham and had lived
in Tacoma for the past 32 years.
He was a professional land
surveyor and railroad contractor.
He was the planner and developer
of Jacoby's Shorecrest
Recreational Development in
Shelton.
He was a member of Fern Hill
Lodge No. 80 F. and A.M., the
Scottish Rite Bodies. the Afifl
Temple of the Shrine, the
TacobatGrotto, the Button
Makers,and Cedar Chapter No.
173 OES.
He is survived by his wife,
Evelyn, Tacoma; two daughters,
Mrs. Thomas A. (Sarah) Lewis
and Miss Susie White: both of
Tacoma: two sons, Richard F.
White of Denver and William A.
White of Tacoma: a sister, Mrs.
Carlton (Grace) Pe,nber of
Orange, Calif.: a brother. Jackson
I. Bryand of Claremont, Calif.:
and four grandchildren.

SKOKOMISH-Tonight there will
be a special program following the
prayer service, at the Skokomish
Community Church. Miss Edith
Johnson, who is home on
furlough from Colombia S. A.,
where she has been serving as a
missionary, will be showing slides
of her work there.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson
returned home Sunday after
spending a week with their
daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Run Porter of Anaheim.
Mrs. Harvey Beihl and family
of Sunnyside called at the Chester
Valley home Memorial Day.

Club is sponsoring a dance at the
Mason County Fair Grounds June
