Dave Carlson, Shelton High
School's senior pitcher-first
baseman, was recently awarded
All Black Hills League acclaim.
The left-handed-swinging
Carlson compiled a hefty .429
average during the season.
In what was a dismal year for
Shelton's baseball fortunes,
Carlson put some punch into the
Climbers' attack.
Carlson is college-bound with
a baseball and journalism
scholarship at Mt. Hood
Community College.
Also joining Carlson on the
select group of baseballers will be
Mike Marshall. An honorable
mention pick, also a left-handed
swinger, Marshall was used almost
everywhere but behind the plate.
He finished the season hitting at a
.369 clip to rank second behind
Carlson's .429.
