Lake Limerick illi Local residents take part in festival DRIVE-IN 5 miles south on Freeway By MARTHA HEIMSATH To begin our week, there were a few cold windy days and then several quite warm ones to compensate for the unpleasant ones. Weather-wise we fared very well. The last two days of the |:olest Festival were beautiful. The day of the parade couldn't have been nicer. Lake limerick was represented in the parade by Carol Waiter's son, Brett Haskell, who was chosen as drum major ioi the Middle School Band. The Limerick fire truck with five crew members aboard also represented Lake Limerick in the parade. Brett's older brother, Bruce ltaskell, was home for a two-week leave from the U.S. Coast Guard in California and is returning today. The Ed Kelloggs of division two have sold their home on the lake and have moved back to Seattle, where Ed is employed in home air-conditioning. A Mason County permit was issued for a home in division two on the lake for Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Fabian. This is the fourth permit for lakefront homes this year. Twenty-three Clover Valley Golfers, accompanied by four ladies, arrived bright and early June 1 for their match play with the Lake Limerick golfers. Following are the winners in the three flights: Division One: AI Sullivan, Clover Valley, longest drive. Low net winners were Jack Boyd, first; Ralph Bennett, second; Walt AIbedyll, Ed Scheidt and Steve Bennett, three-way tie for third. Division Two: Ken Buyer, Clover Valley, longest drive. Low ,et winners were Earl Mackin, litst; Robert Miller, second; Jim I'eckenbaugh, Clover Valley, third. Division Three: Wayne Ilathaway, longest drive. Low net winners were Ray Miller, first; Oten Peterson, second; Sam I hfom, Clover Valley, third. Ralph Bennett and Jack Boyd tied for first with a low gross of S6. Ross Goodenough of Clover Valley was closest to the pin. The Lake Limerick course is quite a cha|ienge with so many ~atural hazards (trees). Even though most of the men from Clover Valley had low handicaps, those trees and the waterhole took their toll. The team scores were Clover Valley 29 and Lake Limerick 67. Lake Limerick men have a return match with Clover Valley in July. After a happy hour, the Lake Limerick ladies Golf Club helped serve luncheon to the golfers. The tables were decorated by Doris Mackin and Maxine Peterson, with wild huck and bear grass. June 8 the golf course will again be closed from 8 a.m. to noon for the golf match with LakeLand Village. Bobble Peterson will be missing for a few weeks. She underwent surgery at Valley General Hospital in Renton June 2. Bob Jacobs is back at work after a month's absence for hip surgery. Bob is doing fine and looks great. The golfers will be busy all this week trying to get in better shape for next weekend. Gate opens 8:00 Show starts 8:15 Sad farewells To part is to die a little.
