They do take bass, but in waters where we also have trout they will fool trout as well. one expert bass angler who takes more trout running to five pounds incidentally each year than most trout in the same period of time. Disco is coming Disco dancing and beginning guitar lessons are among several offerings of the Shelton Parks and Recreation Department this summer. Both classes commence June 14 in Lincoln Gym. The disco class will be taught by the Virginia Woods School of Dancing and will conclude July 5. The guitar class will go through July 12 and is open to anyone ten years of age or older. Kristie on UW rolly Kristie Manke, a 1976 graduate of Shelton High School, has been named to the 1978-79 University of Washington spirit group. Kristie will be a junior this coming year. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and is majoring in physical education. She is the daughter of Virgil and Joan Manke of Shelton. As a Climber, Kristie was a cheerleader and was active in sports as well. She was a state competitor in both swimming and gymnastics. Other members of the Washington rally squad include Jenny Dunn (Olympia), Leanjeanette Hayes (Tacoma), Sebrena Chambers (Tacoma), Henry Brown (Tacoma), Paulette Guyton (Federal Way), Lori Koziuk (Spokane), Monica Hard (Bellevue), Debbie Manning (Bellevue), Molly Steele (Bellevue), Kim Decker (Boise, Idaho) and Yvette Boyd (Tacoma). Legion 9 victorious Shelton's American Legion baseball got its season off to a fine start last Saturday, posting a 16-9 practice-game victory over host Hoquiam. Shelton stroked ten hits in the contest. Jim O'Dell led the way with three hits and five RBIs. John Webber, Mike Lindberg and Benny Ward each had two hits and Dave Danielson stroked one. The team's first home game is this evening at 6 at the high school. The opponent will be the Olympia team that basically comprised Capital High's fine contingent, which concluded its prep season last week by finishing second in state. "We could get, a real lesson in baseball," conceded Shelton Coach Bill Valley. Kristie Manke Wanna take a tumble? Shelton Parks and Recreation again this summer will be sponsoring tumbling lessons for boys and girls ages 4-13. The instructor for this summer will be Bonnie Whitmore. Lessons will be held Mondays and Wednesdays at the middle school's small gym. The duration of these lessons will be five weeks beginning June 19 and ending July 24. The following is a schedule of classes: Ages 4-5, 9-9:45 a.m.; ages 6-9, 10-10:45 a.m.; ages 10-13, 11-11:45 a.m. Registration may be made by calling 426-2107.
