her life, she made a
video about her Da Vincineers program, and focused on her
family of seven, which includes three adopted siblings from
Ghana.
In the final round, Ferrell competed against a woman
who wanted to open a bed and breakfast, and won. How-
ever, she didn't know she had won until Clinton Kelly and
a full TV crew burst in on her Kindergarten class.
"The door opens and here comes Clinton Kelly... there
was screaming and the kids were going 'what?' My young-
est son is actually in the class and he got to ride with me
in the limousine down to the performing arts center ...and
they bussed 300 kids from the school there for a big Show,"
she said.
While the money and other benefits are certainly appre-
ciated, Ferrell said that the best part of the entire experi-
ence is the support that she's gotten for her Da Vincineers
project.
"Probably the best thing is the support we've received ...
caring about our story and people all over who believe in
the Da Vinci project," she said.
Ferrell said that most of the money would go towards a
new home for the family, and the student loans she and her
husband are still paying off. While it certainly isn't a fai-
rytale and probably won't impact her day-to-day life, Fer-
rell said the experience has been truly indescribable.
"It is surreal," she said. "It's a word that people use so
often and I'm not sure it's the right word but rids time it is."
