Donald "Don" Chenoweth Donald "Don" Chenoweth, 89, died May 30, 2011 at home in Union. He was a res- ident of Union for 23 years. He was born February 2, 1922 to Jerome and Verna (Bundy) Chenoweth in Chey- enne, Wyo. He grad- uated from Kapow- sin High School in Graham. H e served in the U.S. Chenoweth Navy dur- ing wwn and was discharged October 29, 1945. He married Irene Jelovich on May 8, 1971 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. I-le was previ- ously married to Lois (Patty) Seeman in 1959. The mar- riage ended in divorced. He was a welder, worked in con- strnction and as a real estate agent. He enjoyed fishing, boat- ing, golfing and woodwork- ing. He is survived by his son Bill Chenoweth of Puy- allup; stepson Frank Jelov- ich (Carol) of Burien; grand- daughter Katrina Johnson (David) of Graham and grandson Lucas Jelovich of Seattle. His parents, wife Irene, brother Jack and sis- ter Alberta preceded him in death. McComb Funeral Home of Shelton handled the arrange ments. Metz, 47, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 in Bremerton after a coura- geous battle with cancer. She was born July 3, 1963 in Shelton to Phillip "Lowell" and Linda (Todd) Hardie. She graduated from Shel- ton High School in 1981 and went to work at the Bremer- ton shipyard where she met her husband Bob Metz. They married in July of 1985. She enjoyed working with crafts, decorating her home and working in her garden. She was a huge soccer fan her family shared. She was a member of the Bromerton Ladies Eagles and worked for hospice for a year before she became ill. She is survived by her hus- band Bob of Seabeck; mother Linda Hardie of Grapeview; sister Debbie Eaton (Allan) of Shelton; brother Brian Har- die; nieces Deidre and Alysse Eaton of Shelton; grand- mother Dorthey Todd of Shel- ton; aunt Vivian Stephens (Urbun) of Olympia; uncles David Hardie (Wanda) of Shelton and Elden Todd, Jr. (Patti) of Bremerton. Radich Jr., 79, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Fir Lane Health and Re- habilitation Center. He was born on February 19, 1932 in Oakland, Calif. to George M. Radich and Doro- tha (Williams) Radich St. He attended high school in Astoria, Ore. and graduating from Pacific University, For- est Grove, Ore. in 1957. He married Patricia Marie Haberly in Astoria, Ore. in 1959. Radich was a local optom- etrist who began his practice here in Shelton in 1963. He served on the school board and the port commis- sion for many years and was a member of the Shelton Ro- tary and Lions Club. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and play- ing golf. He enjoyed going to the casho and his local cof- fee klatches~ where his social personality, coupled with his knowing nearly everyone, al- lowed him to discuss politics. He was also a very avid read- er, his family shared. His wife Patricia of Shel- ton and daughter Carol of Shelton survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and son James Robert Radich. For your convenience online condolences may be sent to the family at mccembih.cem. Terry L. Robinson Terry L. Robinson, 70, died May 25, 2011 in Shelton. He was a resident of Shelton for 32 years. He was born June 12, 1940 in Shelton to Cleave ~ Rob- inson and Rosobelle (Roush) Robinson, He grew up in Shelton and returned here after he retired. He was a supply sergeant and motor pool truck driver in the Army for 21 plus years. His rank at discharge was SP 5 motor He lnar- tied Will- mia Joyce Allen on June 9, 1962. H e spent most of his ca- Robinson reer in the Army but also was a landscaper. He enjoyed rocks, coin col- lections and gardening. He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include his wife Joyce Robinson; sons David L. A. Robinson; Darin L. A. Robinson of Shelton; Jeremy A. Robinson of Chester, Va. and Jonathan A. Robison of west Valley City, Utah; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ro- mona Crim. A memorial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 916 North 12th St., Shelton. The Neptune Society is handling the arrangements. Johanna (Zimmerman) Schmidt Johanna (Zimmerman) Schmidt, 80 died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Yuma, Ariz. from Parkinson's disease. She was a resident of Shelton for 15 years before moving to Yuma in 1994. She was bern Septem- ber 2, 1930 in Kildeer, N.D. to Johan and Sophia (Scholkowsky) Zimmerman. Schmidt graduated from Killdeer High School in 1948. She married Howard A. Schmidt on September 15, 1948 in Dunn Center, N.D. She was a housewife and co-owned with her spouse Schmidt's Grocery and Day- ton Laundry Mat in Dayton from 1972 to 1988. She and her husband were the origi- nal owners of the Loggers Inn Tavern at Dayton, State House Tavern in Olympia, Drift Inn Tavern in Tacoma and a Bar Supply Company. After sell- Schmidt ing the gro- cery store in 1988 she worked as a cashier in the Spronse-Roitz Store in Shel- ton until she retired. She helped with the for- mation of the fire district in Dayton. She is survived by her husband Howard A. Schmidt of Yuma, Ariz.; daughters Nancy Steinkamp (Terry) of Yuma, Ariz., Gloria We- ber (Keith of Tacoma and Suzanne Hanson (Dave) of Temecula, Calif.; sons Daniel Sehmidt (Nancy) of Temecula, Calif.,Geo eS nni&(Cathy of Cornvine, Ar _z. Woodard Jones V"n inia L. Woodard Jones, 77, died May 3, 2011 of uatu- ral causes at her home in Ea- gle Point, Ore. She was bern November 16, 1933 at home in Shelton to George H. Woodard and Hazel M. (Baker) Wagner. She graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1952. She married Charles R. Jones on September 10, 1955 in SheltorL She worked aRer high school as a waitress at Cote Grill. Later she ran a daycare in California. Sbe enjoyed life, family and ber dogs. She enjoyed can- ning fresh veggies and fruits. I-Ier family shared that she had a passion for camping and espe- dally fish- ing. She is Jones survived by her daugh- ters Terri Lynn Harper of Eagle Point, Ore. and Brenda Marie Me- lander of Burlington, Karl.; brother Robert George Wood- ard of Sun City, Ariz.; grand- daughters Heather Harper of Eagle Point, Ore. and Ginny (Melander) Bruns of Colo.; grandsons Derek Harper of Eagle Point, Ore., Christo- pher Bogdanof, Charles Me- lander of Burlington, Kan. and J. J. Melander of Bur- lington, Kan.; great-grand- child Kyle Bruns of Colo.; nu- merous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles R. Jones, brothers Alvin E. Woodard and Harold E. Wilson and sister Doris M. Brown. No service is being held. Her ashes will be spread at her favorite fishing hole in Washington. Roger W. Veil Roger W. Veil, 71, died December 28, 2010 in Desert Hot Springs, Calif. following a ,stroke. He was a resident of LakeLimerick and Christ- mas Village in Shelton. He was born October 25, 1939 in Streeter, N.D. H e served in the Army and was stationed in Hawaii. Veil He mar- ried Barba- ra (O'Neil) on March 12, 1992 in Tuk- wila. She remembers their 19 years together fondly. His previous wife was deceased. He was a police officer for the City of Seattle for 10 years and an engineer for Baugh Construction for 32 years prior to retiring. Veil was active in the commu- nity, a volunteer for the food bank and the Senior Center. Marian "Bhmehe" Wynne "Blanche" Wyrme, 96, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at home near Steamboat Is- land in Olympia. She was a resident for 90 years. She was born October 18, 1914 to Lawrence and Lula A. (Storey) Beigh in New Meadows, Idaho. She married Dominic Wynne in Olympia in 1935. She was a rural mail car- rier for 20 years in Olym- pia; a homemaker; worked at Holly Hill Filbert Farm in Olympia for 12 years; worked for OIympia Can- nery Company for five years; was a school bus driv- er for Griffin School District and worked for the Olympia newspaper writing articles. She usually worked three jobs at a time. '. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Shelton and previously was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Olym- pia. She was a member of the NALC (National Assoc. of Let- ter Carri- ers) and was one of the old- est mem- Wynne bers of the Prosperity Grange. She enjoyed fishing, travel- ing the U.S., Mexico and BC Canada, farming, haying with her husband, crochet- ing and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son Thomas L. (Chamberlin) Buzgo, 34, resident of Vancouver, WA for the past 13 years, passed away on June 2, 2011. She was born on Feb. 20, 1977 in Dallas, TX and later raised in Shelton, WA by her father, Skip and mother, Sue. She graduated from Sheltun High School in 1995. Kim earned her B.S. in Psychology at the Washington State University in 1999 and married Kurt Buzgo on July 20th, 1999. Kim worked as a family mediation counselor. She loved music and was involved in many choirs. She had a great love for books. Kim was an empathetic listener and the sounding board for all her friends. Currently she has been staying home to care for her husband and daughter, the loves of her life. Kim is survived by her husband, Kurt Buzgo and daughter, Kayla Buzgo of Vancouver, WA; mother, Sue Chamberlin and father, Skip Conklin of Vancounver, WA; brother, Stan Conklin (PVS) of Sacramento, CA; sister, Sabrina Conklin of Sacramento, CA; grandfather, Bob Chamberlin of Seqnim, WA; grandmother, Evelyn Conklin of Huntington Beach, CA; aunt, Becky Gilman of Vancouver, WA; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, niece and many, many loving friends.
